There has to be some kind of reshuffle because some ministers lost their seats. I don't think DUP ministers are likely, though, since it still seems like a coalition is off the table and you don't get ministers just for confidence+supply.

So labour has to prepare for the next election that's almost certain to happen within 2 years so how does it prepare best?

There are some razor thin majorities out there for the taking and imo corbyn needs to step in and effectively take over scotlab. SNP currently have no purpose and while they're soul searching for what they are going to stand for its prime time to prepare to take a bunch of seats off them.

I don't think scotlab's problem is blairism, they're just poo poo and can't stop blaming the SNP for beating them instead of actually presenting an alternative.

Labour winning even more would have been very much a poisoned gift as well, since Corbyn would also have had tons of problem getting his legislation through without rebels. Plus, he'd get the blame for brexit negotations going badly. So it'd have been a pyrrhic victory, this outcome is actually perfect.

I agree, unless Labour can smash it they shouldn't win until Brexit's over.

My God, it's full of Horatios!

The key thing is probably to make sure that the conservatives take the blame for Brexit, part of which is having a strong narrative about why it's bad (which can't put the blame on the people who voted for it). That's going to be challenging, especially if the Tory Remainers are able to hold the government to ransom and stop them pursuing a hard Brexit at all costs.

The larger figure is an Orangeman, a figure representing both the DUP and religious hatred. The smaller figure is Theresa May, "in the pocket" of the larger figure.

Theresa May is in the pocket of the DUP.

The mental gymnastics that some leftists can do never ceases to astonish me. I think that partly it's because a lot of people read a few books - maybe State & Revolution, Imperialism, Kapital, etc... and instead of coming away from them with a mental tool kit for analysing and assessing society themselves, they just try and remember "imperialism bad. Amerikkka is imperialist... Amerikkka is bad... anybody who doesn't like Amerikkka... is good??" and end up with some majorly hosed up opinions. They remember the literal text, but never internalise the process of analysis itself, so they're unable to handle new or different situations.

I'm dyin' here.
