I don't think DUP ministers are likely, though, since it still seems like a coalition is off the table and you don't get ministers just for confidence+supply. Not even Secretary of State for Northern Ireland?

Labour winning even more would have been very much a poisoned gift as well, since Corbyn would also have had tons of problem getting his legislation through without rebels. Plus, he'd get the blame for brexit negotations going badly. So it'd have been a pyrrhic victory, this outcome is actually perfect.

I agree, unless Labour can smash it they shouldn't win until Brexit's over.

The key thing is probably to make sure that the conservatives take the blame for Brexit, part of which is having a strong narrative about why it's bad (which can't put the blame on the people who voted for it). That's going to be challenging, especially if the Tory Remainers are able to hold the government to ransom and stop them pursuing a hard Brexit at all costs.

The rumor is that the Cash for Ash scandal broke when a Catholic farmer was denied into it when all his Unionist farmer neighbours were accepted, so he whistleblew. If true, got to love the bigotry still exists even when scamming the government.
