I think I ended up on Yuzu's route (by default? I was really bad at saving people). I was stuck on the first boss (Jezebel? I forget) and never went back to it.

Jezebel is yet another escort map, except now there's a boss and lava everywhere. I can see why it'd be the breaking point.RickDaedalus posted:The dub is alright so far. I mean, you're not wrong that he's a dick, but he's at least consistent with his ideals; he respects the people who've proven their chops and when defeated, will concede that his ideals are weaker than yours. If we're comparing endgame plans, his is actually one of the better ones: Ronaldo literally made his up on the spot when he found out Yamato's plan and decided that he wanted to do the exact opposite and one of Daichi's plans was just kill Polaris and leave the state of the world as-is and hope for the best.

Yamato is an rear end in a top hat. And he's completely real with you about said asshattery. Ronaldo would like to think that he's better than that... but he's really not. Makoto is the happier medium between both in that she's serious and job-centered, but she has a slightly dorky/cute side in that some of the interactions with other people pull her out of her comfort zone. Now, the question: Who's the best Makoto?

it's easily P5, but my Write In is Makoto from Free the metric i judge all makotos e: Yamato is weird cause it may be the only time I've liked a Chaos ideal and it's probably helped by the fact that he is well meaning. It's terrible in a functioning society and would hurt countless people, but in a world where you're trying to rebuild society after a complete demon apocalypse, it is all hands on deck and if your hands aren't helping then get off my deck. it's a way better Might Makes Right that other Chaos routes have where it's just Mad Max times apparently [george costanza voice] we're trying to make a society here, we are supposed to act in a helpful way! I mean, what could he have done to stop Polaris from sending the Septentrions down? Like, to even get an audience with Polaris, he needed to beat down the big 7, so it's not like he could've appealed to it to stay its hand. Psyduck also has like no power when it comes to dealing with Polaris, so it's not like Yamato could've told him "hey go tell your boss not to go gently caress up humanity." Yamato had a whole lot of plans and countermeasures for basically every Septentrion-related scenario, which was probably the best thing he could actually do regarding the invasion.

I forgot how long it takes to get the cool demons. Being stuck with a jobber cast is starting to get to me. I don't even mean how effective they are, but how dumb they all look. Get out of here, Bilwis. You're just a blue lego with a pitchfork. Also yeah, Yamato is way more sensible than Ronaldo. My memory might be hazy, but I appreciated a character like Ronaldo. It was nice to have a role reversal. Usually you're part of the scrappy underdogs, but here you're part of the dominating group.

Yamato's a poo poo. Ronaldo is someone that should had been in DS1 but somehow stuck in DS2, where the people getting murdered by demons barely get mentioned. He's not wrong at the end of the day, there's people starving and dying and the playable characters are living in JP peeking at girls. I would loving get mad and probably kill one of them too. Another point in Ronaldo's favour is that his route has Otome, Airi, and Joe while Yamato has Makoto, Fumi and garbage can Keita.
