If you give people a good candidate they will vote for them, it's extremely simple. Hillary was festering dog poo poo and lost to trump, a caricature of a cartoon villain.

If it's one thing the election proved, it was that you can't just do whatever you want when you have a whole ton of money, and still win. It's not unrealistic to say that the next election may even involve courting voters with policies.

An Apology To Hillary Clinton: We Failed You Hillary, you were the sacrificial lamb for our democratic process. 11/15/2016 06:22 pm ET | Updated Nov 16, 2016 It seemed impossible. A candidate who made racist, misogynistic and other hateful statements could be elected as President of the United States. Yet here I was late into the night last Tuesday, stunned with the rest of the country. As more and more states began to turn red on the electoral map, the reality set in that Donald J. Trump would be President. And that Hillary Clinton would be defeated. I knew that it was possible, but I had hoped that Americans would come out to vote against division and hate. Everyone underestimated the anger and disaffection of so many Americans. In doing so, we failed to provide a path to unity. To hope. To Hillary. I am a staunch Democrat and a huge supporter of Hillary Clinton. I am angry and sad and numb in the wake of our new reality- A Republican House, a Republican Senate, Donald Trump as President, and likely a handful of Supreme Court nominees on the horizon. How did we get here? And more importantly, how do we move forward? As the protests over the results of the election began, I watched the news coverage in earnest, inspired by the number of people coming out to stand up against hate and divisiveness. But the protests also stirred strong feelings of resentment and bitterness for me. This election was lost because of indifference. So to see people coming out to protest, to speak, to rally now, after the election is over, is frustrating. Where were you before the election? Were you canvassing for Hillary? Were you reaching out to friends and neighbors about the election? Did you talk to colleagues and fellow parishioners about how important it is to vote? Did you post on social media that you intend to vote for Hillary and support her, even if she was an imperfect candidate? Did you reach out to your fellow Americans in the rust belt and talk to them about why they feel left behind and how Hillary will help them rise up again? Did you knock on doors in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida or Ohio? I didn’t. And I should have. I would ask all of the protesters and everyone who feels disappointed by the outcome of this election- Did you vote for her? Because if you were eligible to vote, and didn’t, you helped to elect the man you are now protesting against. Part of why Trump was elected is because people abstained. This election was as much about a “No” to someone as it was a “Yes” to someone else. And that may be sad, and uncomfortable, but it’s true. In the absence of a choice that you liked or felt passionate about, did you decide not to participate? There was a choice to make and if you didn’t choose Hillary, then you chose Trump. Now we all have to deal with the repercussions of this election. But, we have to accept the results. People voted. And he won in a decisive victory. It wasn’t like Bush v. Gore. It wasn’t even close. I have struggled to find something to learn from what happened. Something to inspire after the devastation of Hillary’s defeat. A way to move forward through this dark time in which so many Americans voted to elect a man like Donald Trump. I believe that the lesson is clear- Vote. Participate in the political process, because that is how your voice is heard. I acknowledge that there are many people whose vote has been suppressed and we must tackle those issues so that everyone who should vote, can. Hillary, you were the sacrificial lamb for our democratic process. We had the opportunity to make history and we didn’t do our part. We are sorry and promise to do better. For your sake, and the sake of our country. So, go ahead and peacefully protest. But then go and register to vote. Register other people to vote. Participate in the system, or try to change it, but don’t stay on the sidelines because you think it doesn’t matter. Voting is the least we can do to have our voices heard. I voted, but I should have done more. I failed her, I failed my party, and I failed our country. I didn’t do enough to help elect Hillary Clinton. I would ask each of you who feels disappointed in the outcome of this election to take a moment to reflect, and ask yourself: Did you?
