I've been looking over future banners to plan mythril spending and I came to the realization that I have next to zero X synergy and absolutely no water element relics. Is Dra Al Bhed Banner 1 interesting at all? The USB sounds amazing but everything else looks underwhelming. The only other option for water seems to be FFVI Banner 2 that is coming soon but that is only a single BSB among a sea of stuff I don't care about. Edit: Or maybe save for Edge's USB? KataraniSword posted:"Jump Start", apparently, which is a lot dorkier and less hype than Full Throttle. But such is the way the renames have gone in global. Yeah our names always come out sounding a lot dorkier. It's irritating. EXCEPT that I really like the name "Torment" for those dungeons. That's a good one. Obviously we couldn't have ours be Nightmare since that was already the dorkier version of Abyss. But I like it. Why can't they all be like that one.

No it's a terrible strategy. But magicite bosses have only slight weakness, so you can stack imperils on top of that to further improve damage ofthe correct element.

Which 50 mythril banner should I pull on? Im a fairly new player, running a orlandeu (super+), delita(burst) , zell(burst), mustadio (burst), rapha (burst). I feel like I need a dedicated healer, Rapha never gets enough meter to burst at the higher difficulty, only gets to do debuff/buff stuff. What do you guys think?

Hey, I'm a newish player with a question re: pulling or saving mythril for later. Right now I'm approaching level 50 with a team of Agrias/Ramza/Squall/Orlandu/Yuna, with Orlandu and Squall rocking their 6* OSBs, Agrias and Yuna with their recent BSBs, and Ramza with Tailwind and Chant, but no Shout. I'm still early in the game, so for 99% of dungeons so far autoattacking and summoning a RW for the boss has been very effective, and I have approximately a million billion mythril I can scoop out of the realm dungeons. I'm sitting on 55 right now. Should I pull on the new select banner and try for Shout (or Squall's BSB I guess) or should I just chill and wait for new, cooler stuff to show up? I feel like I've already been fairly lucky with relic pulls for my team, but I also feel like I'm not going to be hurting for mythril for a while, especially when realm dungeons are half stamina.

You could do a lot worse than pulling on the Nightmare select, but based on the options available now and coming up soon, yeah, pulling on the half-price lucky draws and saving for Fest would probably be best. Keep in mind the realm dungeons are only half stamina for about a week a month, and that's more than half over for this month I think. Plus, realm dungeons take more and more stamina as they get harder, so grinding will slow down a lot. Squeeze as much in as you can now, I guess.

Finally managed to dunk on Mote Ifrit! Even managed to CM it, too! Soul Breaks used: Selphie - Dreamstage Squall - Sub-Zero Blast Edea - Maelstrom Seifer - none Irvine - Canister Shot (don't laugh, it's all I've got for him ) RW was Eiko's USB. Took several restarts because he kept killing people before I got my mitigation up, but once I finally managed to get through the opening stage of the fight with everyone alive, I was able to gradually tear him apart. I also CM'd Mote Dahaka before this, but that didn't really feel like much of an accomplishment since I was running Raines's BSB and Mote Dahaka's kind of a chump to begin with.

So, basically I have Gilgamesh's OSB, Faris' BSB, and Shout. Is there anything I should be looking for in order to cement in a physical team around this? I'm not really sure how any of the 5-level skills work, still sort of working on getting a Wrath and a Lifesiphon up to snuff, so basically anyone that isn't a Knight/Samurai/Dragoon (jeez, he really does it all) like Gilgamesh or the Wrath/pick-a-breakdown of Ramza. Celerity? Thieves? Not sure where to go from here.

Don't give ramza wrath. It overwrites shout with a pathetic 5% atk buff. Use full break and a breakdown approriate for the boss. As for where to go next, you lack a really good spellblades user. Spellblades are important source of elemental damage and just in general good damage, and you'll still want a decent white Mage bsb.

# ? Jun 11, 2017 05:11 |

Definitely put lifesiphon on him though, because Shout will last for about five turns, and it will take 8-9 turns using non-lifesiphon abilities to generate an SB bar, assuming Ramza doesn't get hit by anything. This is pretty much the definitive guide for deciding what abilities you should prioritize: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKeeper/comments/4hbewc/expanding_your_options_endgame_ability_creation/?st=iu0bnu1l&sh=53a1bb68

He has Faris' BSB, he doesn't need Full Break, so he can use Lifesiphon or a second break as required (remember that Faris' commands cover Attack and Magic breakdown as well). Gilgamesh can Draw Fire/Retaliate, which is only situationally useful but lets you punch well above your weight when you can pull it off. There's one Nightmare where I think all four of the sub-bosses can be cheesed that way. You might want to get him Hailstorm too, which I'm pretty sure stacks with Shout and doesn't need to be honed very high, if you have good hones on your second ability. Having Shout, Chant and Tailwind, I have sometimes put Wrath on Ramza anyway, written him off as a damage dealer, and just used him to back up the attackers. You're not really taking Ramza along for his damage output anyway, even with his BSB. That's a luxury of having a couple years' worth of relics behind you.

Weeping Wound posted:oh, I was thinking Wrath to buff up the gauge, not to overwrite! I'll give him Lifesiphon instead of Gilgamesh Make multiple Lifesiphons, I have 2 and could probably justify 3. 4* combat users are super common and lifesiphon is a drat good ability. Wrath is basically for mages who have support 4* like Terra or Y'sholta, since losing an attack buff is meaningless to them. Also I recommend getting these record materias when you can, all of them unlock at 65: Mako Might (Cloud) and Dr. Mog's Teachings (Tyro) - These 2 are identical and they give you a full SB gauge to start, great for getting a buff like shout on right out of the gate. Blitz Ace (Tidus) and Battleforged (Ramza) - makes SB gauges generate a lot faster, combine with lifesiphon for really quick gauge gains Lionheart (Squall) - Similar to Blitz Ace and Battleforged but only works when the character gets hit. Slap this on Gilgamesh since his BSB has taunt on it. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but if you didn't have any of these they go a long way in allowing you to spam Soul Breaks.

It's called Ace Striker not Blitz Ace And Lionheart is generally poor at building meter Gathering Storm, TGCids level 99 RM, is very useful also

Holy hell how hard does omnescent hit? He was doing bonkers damage through sg, shellga and magic breakdown. It might have been that mp group was broken though. I mean I did my bsb but it didn't even put me into burst mode. Like, how does that happen.

Lionheart is also bad on Gilgamesh because I think the character has to actually take damage for it to build meter and if he's taunting with retaliate from command 2 he isn't going to be taking damage except if he gets targeted by magic He's best off with either battleforged/ace striker or maybe the thundergod rm tg cid gives at level 99. Failing that a rm that boosts his attack will work such as the one he gets at 99 or one of the ones that boost if you are using a certain weapon like swords or katanas. Dr mog/mako might can work too if its a fight where you'd benefit from getting the tauntilate chain started quicker but usually you'd rather have those on buffers/utility or a healer with a good burst/usb. Yeah, Lionheart is best for non-retaliating taunters like a draintanking Golbez or Beatrix with BSB. And even then, needs the right fight. Still an upper tier RM, but it's a specialist. RagnarokAngel posted:Don't give ramza wrath. It overwrites shout with a pathetic 5% atk buff. Use full break and a breakdown approriate for the boss. I actually wouldn't sweat spellblades too much - at the 4* level, while still getting your feet, Cloud has you covered if you need it, and you should be leveling Cloud anyway for Materia. At the 5* level, Spellblades are strictly inferior to the variety of other job skills covering the same elements. (Water for Shooter - and soon Fire and Ice, Mech and Dragoon for Lightning, Thief for Wind, Samurai for Ice, etc etc.) At the 6* level... well, that's more for leaning really hard into various key relics like an Enwind for Butz.

Since this was another thing brought up in the discord: Please note that the only LMs showing up in that screenshot are Lion's despite me having dived Ramza and Celes too. I even went the extra step of unequipping their LM1s and checking again and she still didn't have access. So unless they made it extremely specific and LM1s are only available to characters who can benefit from them (which is unlike RMs, where you can throw +Spellblade damage on characters who have no Spellblade access) I can confirm LM1s are not freely available to mix and match between characters.

That's because I'm pretty sure LMs are character specific unlike RMs so you can't swap them between characters.

I had a sudden urge to pull on the White Magic Lucky banner, even though I'm well up on White Magic SBs. and got three new items! Larsa's Proshellga (not bad), Ceodore's BSB (that'll help round out my Holy Team) aaaand... TINY BEE EDIT: I still haven't beaten Twintania. I've got Bartz's Water BSB now, so that should help, and I might see if Ceodore's off-heal can help, but one of the big problems I'm having with her is her countering physical and black/white magic. Should I just try and push through the counter attacks, or is it better to try and put together a ninja/summon magic team (which I don't have a lot of options for, the only Summon BSB I have is Yuna's BSB2)? Avoiding counter attacks would help me survive, but my DPS would drop off sharply, and I'm pretty sure I'd need some crazy hones to cut through all of her HP. Thoughts?
