Trapezium Dave posted:I'm disappointed that most cartoonists don't play his height up more in their caricatures of him. They usually only draw him a smidge taller, rather than everyone else having to address Comey's kneecaps because the rest of him can't fit in the panel. But that would mean someone is taller than the Republican Ubermench!

Hey, remember when Allie was all about billionaire Bruce Rauner for governor of Illinois? Turns out, things aren't going too well.quote:The devastation of the state’s finances has taken its toll on Rauner politically, despite his investing heavily on TV, digital and robocall messaging — in 2016 alone, Rauner contributed more than $50 million to his upcoming campaign. In March, 58 percent of those polled reported having an unfavorable view of the Republican, according to a poll conducted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, up from 32 percent in 2015. But he was the voice of reason, seeking compromise with those obstructionist Democrats, right? quote:This year, Rauner balanced his budget proposal by relying on $4.5 billion in savings from a so-called Grand Bargain compromise in the Illinois Senate. That compromise was born out of Senate leaders in both parties revolting against Madigan and Rauner and putting together their own budget.

Dammit, why did America have to have a gigantic media circus event the same week Britain punched itself in the face for the second time in a year? I wanted some spicy hot cartoon takes. Though, has there really been a week in the Trump administration where there hasn't been an all-encompassing shitstorm going on, I guess.

I'd have thought at least the Bernie camp would have jumped on the election, what with the dominant story being a left-wing socialist manifesto massively fuelling Labour's resurgence where centrist liberalism had previously left the party out in the cold. But I guess there's not a lot of those folks doing political cartoons.

Part of it is audience; it's mostly published in newspapers and the primary market there is olds. Young people are more likely to get theirs news from the interblag.
