Detective No. 27 posted:Yakuza Zero- 80s bubble era, prequel to the Yakuza series. Perfect starting point to the franchise. And then the remake of the original comes out in August, which will only be $30. Some big time Japanese actors are in this one and the acting is superb. Just watch Majima's intro. I played the first Witcher when it came out and remember that its about a mutant monster hunter called Geralt whose best friends are a surly dwarf, a bard, a redheaded sorceress he wants to bone, a princess that used to be a monster, and another sorceress that he also wants to bone that might be evil(?). There is fantasy racism against Dwarves and Elves so they formed a fantasy IRA to fight the power through murder. Also there is a lot of monsters. From what I've sene Yakuza 0 looks pretty rad. glam rock hamhock posted:Ugh, this poo poo always happen when I don't take my pills Far too many shorts are way too long. Witcher 3 plays completely differently and requires no knowledge of the previous games. I think all of the characters you mentioned are in it though.

I really enjoyed the parts of The Mummy that were about an undead S&M freak dommeing Tom Cruise, not so much the absurd plot used to get us to the next sexual setpiece or the ending. But I got the tickets for half-price, so I suppose it's a wash.

I get wanting them to do something. I get being angry at the poor choices that have left them powerless. But none of them are going to vote for any version of the AHCA, and not voting for things is the extent of their actual power. All they can do is talk, and there's plenty of Democratic officials complaining loudly about both the content and procedure of Republican health care bills. It's frankly a bit impressive that people have managed to find a complaint about Democrats that doesn't actually hold up, considering how rich a target they are.

BENGHAZI 2 posted:Not even bothering to raise an argument is a real bad look though if you're one of the people losing healthcare At least in the news I'm reading, there's a ton of Democrats in the House and Senate telling everyone who will listen about how tens of millions of people will lose access to healthcare. There's press conferences, interviews, press releases. Today, Democrats in the Senate hijacked a hearing on drug prices to point out that lowering drugs prices is irrelevant to the people the Republicans are going to kick off of Medicaid and health insurance. At least from what I've seen, if there's a group obsessed with Russia to the exclusion of health care, it's the media, not the Democrats. BENGHAZI 2 posted:Nancy Pelosi is on record as saying she'd never support single payer like dang this is a pressing issue in every day Life being amazed that people are upset about it is some moronic poo poo Yeah, stuff like this sucks. But that's the Democratic party having bad policies, not them talking about Russia to the exclusion of healthcare.

BENGHAZI 2 posted:Nancy Pelosi is on record as saying she'd never support single payer like dang this is a pressing issue in every day Life being amazed that people are upset about it is some moronic poo poo to be fair "i'd never support single payer" and "i want universal healthcare" are not the same statement. She would *probably* support something like the healthcare system being voted on in Nevada right now (allowing buy-in to Medicaid) which would eventually lead down the road to a program something similar to what they have in most developed countries with a combination of private and public insurance with a guarantee of healthcare by the government. Single-payer healthcare is not the hill anyone, for or against it, should be dying on, especially because "single payer healthcare in America" is not a realistic short or even medium term goal. edit: and if you genuinely believe that, given a magic powder turning all of the republicans into staunch socialists who suddenly decide that single payer healthcare is their number one priority, and equal public support, that Nancy Pelosi would not vote for it and tell everyone else to gently caress off, then i dunno

The architects of Medicare and Medicaid were trying to lay the foundations of single-payer. That was literally over half a century ago. How many generations need to suffer and die under a "realistic" timeline? Fabianism doesn't actually win, ever

The Dems, like the republicans, get poo poo tons of money from people that would lose tons of money from having a sane health Care system. The Dems, unlike the republicans, pretend they give a poo poo and will play it up when they know they can't do anything and stumble around like a Benny Hill bit when they actually have power.

Like all I was trying to say earlier was that Russia has no connection to healthcare. The idea that if the Russia thing wasn't happening, the Dems would be all in on healthcare isn't really based in reality. If they aren't doing anything about healthcare it's because they don't want to. They would be capable of doing two things it's just they don't want to and I'm content with them doing the Russia thing in case it actually finds something and it's not the absolute worst thing they could be doing.

Nancy Pelosi didn't say "no single-payer, ever". That soundbite was taken out of context and she's supported single-payer as an endgoal elsewhere. Democrats have arguably been too timorous on policy generally, including healthcare, but A) a substantial amount of them came of age during a period when Americans seemed to be rejecting anything to the left and B) pressure from the people is pushing them leftward and that's how democracies are supposed to function.
