The coding re: assets is not the hard part. Actually building all those assets is. They could find a bunch of open license poo poo I guess, but they have to make it look good it wall have to be from the same source to be consistent.

If you wanted to rebrand a fan game you could always pay an artist to make assets but any extra money you put into the project is reliant on people actually buying your game. I don't know if there is a huge audience willing to put down money for Portable Creatures: Uranium.

The big games for Switch are awesome this year, but I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get more indie announcements. I know the games are coming, but some target release dates would be very nice.

There's basically one game I'd be interested in playing coming out every 1 -2 months for the rest of the year. It's pretty rad. Hoping for more indie titles soon but tbh between Stardew Valley, Thumper and Shovel Knight I think the best indie games are already out!

Odyssey looks cool and I'll buy it but drat the new New Donk City level is ugly as hell and looks really drab and sparse. It's like it's half unfinished.

I mean, does no one remember that most of Bob Omb Battlefield was a big open field? This is in line with that, but with multiple stuff hidden throughout. That's just how the sandbox Mario games verses the course based ones are.

Those things are pretty clearly based on the moai statues in the easton kingdom. The Sand Kingdom seems to have a bunch of nods to Sarasland/Super Mario Land.

I tapped the home button three times in such fury and joy I could barely see an inch beyond my nose. GungHo is developing a game for the Switch. It's an "action game for all ages with a lighter, comical tone" whose "gameplay style that has not been seen before". No idea when it's coming out.
