Quick what are the politics of the shooter and victims? I need to know if this is an Important shooting or a Normal Everyday shooting.

From reading a local news report on it, it sounds like it is probably a workplace shooting, which is just an accepted form violence in America now

Really though, I'm just surprised that a Bernie supporter found a use for a rifle outside of ripping bong hits out of its barrel.

It shouldn't be that surprising that when the US is in the middle of essentially a long, sustained national nervous breakdown and has a shitload of guns, there's occasional outbreaks of gun violence.

I'm annoyed that she sounds more outraged about violence meted out against republican congressmen than about violence against minority groups like happened at DAPL or in Ferguson. Calls for national unity feel a bit hollow when they seem to be mostly focused on unity with the right.

I mean her literal co-worker was shot, I would imagine that probably sucks a lot more than being angry about violence against minority groups that she isn't part of in a different part of the country. Not that she can't care about those other groups, but one of these hits a bit closer to home than the other.

But Republicans are evil and all deserve death and this country is doomed and is in a downward spiral and in 10 years the Reichstag Fire will something something healthcare

Probably the biggest effect of the shooting will be a greater amount of self-censorship among Democrats and liberal/left voices and more deference from "non-partisan" journalists. Hopefully that won't last too long.

It seems like a stupid line of dialogue because of the massive number of violent conservatives who've done this kind of poo poo but have we considered that conservatives don't actually care about any of that.?

this is absolutely projection

it's also some mealy mouthed bullshit because generally angry conservatives are the ones talking about watering the tree of liberty and using the second amendment to fight the government. you think they'd at least respect this guy's initiative if not his politics but it turns out shooting at government leaders is actually a bad thing, say the oathkeepers and three percenter militia types

This is America. It's five hours later an we've already had another spree shooting with a higher body count. Republicans will be divided by both caring about their friend who might die and defending the shooter's absolute right to buy a rifle and walk out into a ballfield with it.
