sanctions do absolutely nothing, though

it's about as significant as when the two parties come together to bipartisanly pick a name for a post office

It requires a strong combination of personality, gaming talent, steaming know-how, and luck. Very few make it "big".

here's the real kicker from where I stand

esports seems to be less popular than twitch streaming, or at least makes less money. so I mean, you can get paid for being good, but you'll make a few orders of magnitude less cash than some guy who's "entertaining" (I'll leave it to your imagination as to what qualifies as entertaining to an audience largely comprised of upper middle class white males)

Most of them make only "thousands" and that's if they're a relatively big name with solid monetization. Still, the prospect of living cheaply in bumfuck nowhere with premium internet access as your only real need and business expense and living off of video games and low-tier internet fame is a pretty cool one.

#1 requirement is that you have a really nice voice, IMO, so 99% of goons are instantly disqualified.

Honestly sanctioning any major power to death seems like it would be nigh impossible nowadays. Iran is a hell of a lot less likely to be able to function in autarky though.

Communism will help more white people than anyone else. Any equal measures unfairly provide less to minority populations just because there's less of them. Democracy is truly the tyranny of the mob.

success at esports seems to be most useful at driving traffic to your twitch stream, but I think it is funny that the opportunity cost for taking time to attend a tournament means that it basically works like a marketing expense for anyone who has made it into the upper echelons of streamers
