Its going to come down to the fact that the players will hate whatever new ultra futuristic material they use and will eventually have to go back to what they currently use. Oh, and the stupid numbers with holes in them is supposed to be a deterrent to the chinese knockoffs. Adidas doesn't get it. That wont stop them. It wont stop people from buying lovely knockoffs either. People buy lovely knockoffs because they are $30, not for their quality. It just looks stupid in the end for no reason.
