Drouin is really really good. But you're right to be semi-concerned since he's 22 and has never been able to completely get it all together and/or be consistent.

i never paid super close attention to his controversy, but setting that aside he's scored at a ~50 point per season clip over his short career, which is pretty drat good in today's NHL. there really doesn't seem to be a huge list of better LWs

i also don't know much about sergachev as a prospect, but seems like drouin is more of a known entity with a higher ceiling in terms of value (already a top-line player vs. maybe one day could be a top pairing D?). fair enough that there were extenuating circumstances for TBL, but still doesn't seem like they got all the value they could have based on my extremely shallow analysis

I'm honestly gonna miss him. Not for his hockey skill, but for everything else.

Ken Holland is going to sign him, with a cap hit higher than $3m, for two years.

Considering they shipped him to an atlantic competitor, I'd imagine they either A) got as much as they could, or B) got the guy they wanted. I'd bet it was the latter, but I agree that Drouin is a proven commodity and has a higher ceiling. Also, not to mention that you'd think Tampa would be in the "win now" mode, but Serge is 18, and even Hedman sucked at 18 in the NHL.

I really, really, really hope that this was a salary cap casualty and that we needed the space because we're getting Gusev/Kovy/other unnamed forward that the general public doesn't know is available, but is an elite talent.

"Drou who?" is what I say in this hypothetical situation that will probably not happen but la la la lalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaa *covers ears*

Great Pyrenees. He's pretty much the best. If you train them not to bark all day they basically have no flaws.

I really thought the winter classic jersey would fool people. But man, for $30 I still think it was a steal.

It sucks we're not even gonna get Galchenyuk to Drouin. The Sergachev trade is sorta defensible in a win now mentality but the bag of pucks we're gonna get in return for Chuckie is gonna be awful.

I mean, Holland's knock is that he overvalues his guys and wanted to preserve The Streak at all costs right? That means he never would have traded PK...
