I saw Dylan McIlrath won the Calder cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins and was happy knowing he's at least found success some where. I didn't even know he was traded for a second time this season, and ended up with the Red Wings organization. But then I looked up a news article on him, and it read exactly like his time with the Rangers. The only quotes about him were how the other players felt safe knowing a tough guy like McIlrath was one the lineup. Christ, even in the AHL he can't find an actual solid spot. I always felt he would be fine as a 3rd pair dman, or at least 7th defenseman. He even had decent stats for awhile. I'll be surprised if he sniffs the NHL ever again. Truly a first round bust, drat shame.

This photo makes me laugh so hard. I'm just imagining that the Pens parade is just Justin Shultz getting tanked while walking in shorts and a jersey. https://twitter.com/melwedde/status/875029581476093952 Hahah the goddamned people cheering this dude public drinking completely out of context.

The Pens winning the cup sucked, but was worth it just for the entire team being juiced as hell at the parade and all the gifs of it on twitter. Dumoulin shotgunning a beer with his teeth, Maatta being so drunk he had to be held up by a guy for half the parade, Kessel signing a baby, "you sign it I chug it"

https://twitter.com/BlueJacketsNHL/status/875367547016806400 I spot a change. They changed the name font on the back of the jersey to the same font as in the stupid loving shoulder patch cannon logo they switched to two years ago. If they changed the number font as well, this is going to be garbage.

I remember when they changed from the original "CBJ" logo to the star and burgee as the primary I was worried they'd change the nameplate/number font to whatever they'd rolled out with the team's rebrand. They left it alone, fortunately, because it looked cool and good. Don't know why, I just liked the stylized look of the names and the tall, supposed-to-be-Civil-War-looking-I-guess numbers. Doesn't appear the case here.
