It probably hasn't been this bad since the 80s, although I wasn't alive then so I'm just basing this off what history I know. The last couple of years definitely feel like a tipping point though.

There were the 2011 riots. I don't think social unrest was as bad then as it is now or was in the 80s though.

Weird thinking on back on them now and how much my own world view has changes since then.

Good ideas generator

It must be weird to live close to this. Down here in Cornwall, we get the "this is terrible". But it's so distant there's no anger except in an abstract sense, I guess because we're so distant. Can you actually feel it on the streets in London at the moment? As in, outside the areas directly effected.

it is kind of weird to think back on them, they don't feel so long ago. i remember shouting at internet psychopaths demanding the army go out to slaughter the evil poors

but the main thing that comes to mind is: that was six years ago, those 'feral' kids are now adults, with votes and political views. they are the 18-25 generation made so much hay of in the last election

lol the British as a whole do not revere the monarchy.

They are tolerated by a lot of people but I would say maybe a quarter of people, at a push, are really interested + enthused by them, and about as many as that would love to end this crap.

Also the damage control from lib/con media is going to be deafening next week.
