But its really a legit good game and its not just nostalgia, i think they came out with an enhanced edition recently but i never bought it so i honestly can't tell you if it's any good. I think i read that the best way to play now is to get the enhanced edition and do some unofficial patch and go hog wild.

i do not mind bad graphics, i mean the game that stole my attention from bg2 was morrowind and i still install that like once a year

and one of my fav games of all time is alpha centauri, which is also really dated

if the story and gameplay is good then i will probably enjoy it but i need to convince myself to finish tyranny first... :effort:

I liked tyranny but BG2 is way better.

I mean even compared to tyranny theres so much more to do and ways to cheese BG2. Tyranny just seems so linear in comparison.

the big draw to me in tyranny is how much decisions visibly matter, like i know its a thing with modern RPGs to hype up how much your decisions matter even when they dont but tyranny makes it feel like you really are this big important person like even more than bioware games do because you can see the layouts of maps change in front of you

i mean, a one-off NPC living or dying because you said so is neither here nor there

but being able to betray a faction is cool, being able to throw a person off your tower was a neat touch - but yeah its obv linear from what i've read of the ending and how it turns out there really is only one path just multiple ways to get there

it's not really that, i jsut don't play anything (but fighting games) for very long.

I've got 2 dungeons done in breath of the wild, and probably won't finish, have like 2 bosses left in hollow knight, haven't beaten pokemon:sun, never actually beat fallout NV, haven't beaten DOOM(sort of waiting to get it on pc when it's on sale, ps4 controlls sucked poo poo). and that's just in the last year.

and lets not talk about my myriad art projects that i will never finish.

BG2 doesn't give you dozens of different endings or whatever, but theres way more variation in side quests and poo poo to do that makes it really interesting

also i just learned that irenicus was ras al ghul in Batman the animated series :yeah:
