Communism will help more white people than anyone else. Any equal measures unfairly provide less to minority populations just because there's less of them. Democracy is truly the tyranny of the mob.

Or its some obvious scheme to try to get people outside of the far right to listen to them, so they can feel like they aren't just screaming in a void of human detritus.

Also conservatives loving suck. They're the carpet bagging assholes who sit on their hands in government. No one under 40 calls themselves conservative

Molyneux outshines him in that regard. I mean, Aurini's beliefs are filtered through his masculine totem persona (the smoking, the drinking, etc.) but he's not full-blown crazy like Molyneux.

Also, how dare you drag McCarther into this! And yes, that graphic misspells his name.

So, to continue making GBS threads on Rubin for a second, Garrett recommended a channel and I subscribed to it and then started to follow the Recommendations and I saw several people replying to this. It's a few months old now but Rubin made a video for PragerU. I don't recall this being talked about at all in the last thread.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiVQ8vrGA_8

What a joke. Here this video is, right alongside the video that says it's a good thing that 1% of the world can exploit the other 99%. But don't worry about that, it's trigger warnings and safe spaces that are the real evils.

It's all rather funny, while Rubin and a small handful of others are supposedly pushed to the centre, most people are being pushed farther Left., including me.

A lot has been made of how the old YouTube Atheists became the reactionary shitlords we all know and hate but there are a couple from the "old days" who aren't terrible. This guy is actually running for Senate in my state. I dunno if I'll vote for him but he travels the world giving lectures about education and female empowerment and basically doing good works instead of sitting around getting rich off misogyny and racism. So I have nothing but respect for Aron Ra.

I watched more of that Destiny v. Sargon video and Sargon argues for like ten minutes about Destiny using the word "representation", used in the context of describing percentages of a group of people in some area (in this case, the growing percentage of women in engineering fields). Sargon does not like that word "representation" because he doesn't think the women in this fields actually "represents" women like say, a member of the House of Representative "represents" people in their district. I mean, in the context that Destiny was using it, it was a completely fair and valid use of the word, but Sargon just kept getting triggered every single time he used it. This poo poo is on the "well, Abraham Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN, libtards!" level of useless argumentation.

I'm not willing to subject myself to that debate again to confirm a point, but I remember him whinging for ages about how the Government should "do something" to encourage black families to stay together but when Destiny said that the government should intervene to help people who lose out in globalisation, he suddenly became very precious about the government butting in.

Sargon isn't a liberal or leftist of any type (let alone """Classical""" liberal), he's a bog standard right-wing small-c conservative reactionary with a bunch of xenophobia thrown in. He's obsessed with bandying about the term "idealogue" to throw at people he doesn't like, then makes a video whining that Corbyn hugged a victim of the recent Grenfall tower fire. I don't know why he insists he's anything other than right-wing, since he exclusively supports right to far-right candidates. He called Trump an old-fashioned "Man of the People" and couldn't unfasten his lips from Trumps cock at all during his campaign because all of Trumps policies (protectionism and anti-globalism but also anti-muslim and immigrant in general) are things he supports, even if he disingenuously tries to claim he's not a supporter. But other populists (Sanders, Corbyn, Hamon in the French election) are either ignored or attacked relentlessly. I imagine he's got a sizeable "brocialist" following which is why he pays lip service to some ostensibly left-wing ideas.

The honest answer is Sargon is a right populist. Thus he sees himself to the left of the Tories, since they are pretty obviously a "More Money for Me, gently caress You" party to a level we don't see in the US. The Populism -> Meritocracy axis is something different than left-right, and lots of people really fail to recognize this.

He's not left, he's just stumping for the useless unskilled white laborer in the UK. As such, he has issues with anyone he feels (regardless of truth) is coming in to take their jobs away, be it internal ones (automation or women in the workforce) or external (trade or immigration). He also appeals to their culture requirements, meaning misogyny, homophobia, islamophobia, etc. to make sure that low-value whites aren't at the bottom of society. Incidentally, it explains why he's so anti-education, since that's one of the first things that's a gate keeper to keeping his class out of power. Pretending to be left is also a standard populist trick to muddy the waters, and Sargon plays that as well as he can given his fairly poor rhetorical skills.

In a stopped clock moment, the PragerU video was actually right here. They had a US military historian from West Point on who said in no uncertain terms that the Civil War was about slavery, and rebutted the two most common counter-arguments (states' rights, and how most Southerners didn't own slaves). It's shockingly good for a Prager video, instead of the standard smug white supremacy I see out of the rest of their stuff.

Hamon was a centrist democratic socialist, which is pretty left by modern discourse. Melenchon was even further to the left but had some ideas that put him in the weird left (alt-Left?) bracket like Germany being the world enemy and GMOs a plot of mad science.

So I've been watching more of that Destiny v. Sargon vid (it's a very long video), and although I like Destiny, I do have to somewhat question his beliefs of the economic benefits of mass immigration. He knows that doing so will increase the labor supply, which will in turn lower wages, but seems to think it's okay because we'll be able to get cheaper products and goods. This seems like a common argument I've seen in libertarian circles.

edit: oh dear, Destiny's supporting the idea of sweatshops :smith:

that's destiny's greatest weakness in his debates, he made the same argument with jontron. products would still be cheap at a livable wage if the owner class wouldn't charge you out the nose for them (apple makes something like 600 dollars in profit on every iphone but their retail employees or foxconn slaves don't make wages that reflect that).

at least when i've heard them bring up debating gop/conservatives/alt-right folks they say it's a useless exercise because the rightists won't argue properly. even if you "own" them or catch them being hypocrites or point out flaws in their logic it doesn't matter to them. in the west wing episode they talk about this fantasy that liberals have of destroying some gop chud's argument and then he'll magically realize he's wrong and come to the light. they give the real world example of obama putting up a moderate for the supreme court to make mcconnell et al look bad for blocking him not realizing these people are evil shitheads with no morals.

it's why they always mock people pointing out logical fallacies (felix's twitter username is even @ByYourLogic) because these troglodytes' entire worldview is structured upon falsehoods and fallacies - pointing that out isn't gonna suddenly make them not morons.

"Never believe that anti‐Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti‐Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past. It is not that they are afraid of being convinced. They fear only to appear ridiculous or to prejudice by their embarrassment their hope of winning over some third person to their side."
~ Jean-Paul Sartre's 'Anti-Semite and Jew'

It's clear how fruitless it is debating with these people when you realize the same arguments used against feminism today are identical to the arguments used 100 years ago. It's the same reason why people here encourage a good faith argument even if the other person is obviously trolling or an idiot: you can't convince someone directly they're an idiot, but a lurker with potential sympathies has no ego to guard and is more receptive to arguments.
