Also how Trump seems to have cured Europe of desire to put right wing populists in power.

Tories got humilated, UKIP gone, Le Pen lost her re election by a landslide, Dutch Weirdo Wilder's party lost many seats along with that right wing hungarian party.

Wilders did not lose seats. No. That is not true. They gained seats. There's just a huge cordon sanitaire around them.

Tories got humiliated after absolutely destroying Labour at the local elections about 1 month before the GE. It was a bigly surprise for us on the left that they did tbh.

Fidesz runs 19 of 19 counties, 20 of 23 cities, and only lost its supermajority due to by-elections. They are not out of the game yet by a long fuckin shot.

Meanwhile in Poland you had the PM more or less saying that Auschwitz showed that the Polish government needed to take firm steps to secure itself (ie against immigrants) about a week ago, and in Slovakia the theoretical socialists coalitioned with a bunch of shithead nazis and got kicked out of the EU's socialist bloc for it. It's not all rosy!
