The cop knows Andy and realises that the very idea of him apologising is insane. Panel 3 is a brief moment of cognitive dissonance and existential doubt.

Some kind of bizarre medical-themed restaurant where you wear examination gowns? And wrist bands? Eugh, doesn't really seem at all appetising to me.

There was a (fancy) pharmacy-themed restaurant in Notting Hill for a while (I think Damien Hirst owned it or something?) which I would walk by occasionally and the clinical theme never made it look like some place you would like to eat.

Do Greg and his daughter take turns writing Luann or something? Because this storyline went from "everybody is having a great time except for Gunther who is obviously a pissy, whiny dweeb" to "Sir Gunthie shall burnish thy virtue thusly M'Lady" pretty quick.

Yeah, I was excited by this change of artist at first, but I think on the whole that Nobody In This Strip Comprehends Perspective has really gone downhill since the days of yore. R Ubbish really needs to get the old guy back.

I've also got a few random samples of a strip I used to love when I was a teen, called Story Minute, by Carol Lay. According to Wikipedia, it "ran for almost twenty years in such US papers as the LA Weekly, the NY Press, and on Salon." It's kind of a surreal strip that, sure enough, tells a new story every strip, in about a minute. (Depending on how fast you read, I guess.)

You can find Carol Lay on Gocomics under the title Lay Lines. It's a mix of old "Story Minute" strips and newer stuff.

This is where it's nice to consult the inflation calculator, because while 50 million is still a lot of money here in 2017, it's not going to go that far when you're talking about leveling and rebuilding apartment buildings in American cities today. The inflation calculator straight refused to calculate anything over $10,000,000 for me, so I went with that and got $88,351,263.54. Multiplied by five, Alamo is willing to spend the 1957 equivalent of $441,756,317.70 on this project.
