The GOP basically salivating at the idea of their co-worker being shot so they can profit politically (while crying tears at the same time) makes the hang wringing about leftists not giving a poo poo about the guy a lot funnier. Watching right wingers on social media talking about this they don't seem to actually care about him at all, but see it as a personal attack on them which is what they find offensive.

Yeah I mean Republicans are going to go as dirty as possible regardless which should be expected at this point and factored into the campaign. If that keeps winning them elections (which I'm not sure it does) the Democrats need to shift their strategy accordingly since even in the absence of something like this they will just fabricate something out of nothing and then apologize about the "mistake" after they win.
