Uh... Kupo?

Honestly, I think RoRs provide a weird game play mechanic that doesn't really make sense. I can instantly summon a stack of 12 elite units including demigryphs and a luminark of hysh in any settlement, including resettled ruins? I think they should be recruited like normal units and require a build time, it puts the haves at a severe advantage over the havenots.

Its expensive as poo poo to buy all 12 units at once and if you can afford to do so you're probably not actually in trouble.

I do like the mod that makes them summoned with no xp though so you have to level them up like a normal unit.

The early adopter bonus for TWW 2 is DLC for TWW1 though. It's all-but confirmed to be Norsca, and I'd bet it has some changes to Warriors of Chaos in it.

NEW CONTENT TEAM

The ‘Old Friend’ will indeed be our next content drop for WARHAMMER, it’s tied to an event later in the summer. I know there’s some excitement, but it’s just a small thing that we wanted to do. Think along the lines of the Blood Knight Free-LC, rather than lords or anything. Not saying it’s a unit specifically, but that sort of scale addition to the game. The event gave us the chance to do something, so we took it.

Having said that, I can say it won’t be the last addition to WARHAMMER. As mentioned in the previous blog a few months ago, we’d been thinking about what sort of content could be added to the first game, and what that might be. We’ve hit on something we think is a pretty good opportunity to add some more content to the game, so there will be a new Race Pack released later in the year, before WARHAMMER II is released.

No, it’s not Kislev (sorry!), but the New Content team have got some rather unique gameplay mechanics for this new Race, and it will come with a small update to the main game and a Free-LC drop. This particular Free-LC will benefit not only main game owners, but also DLC owners too this time.

Otherwise, the New Content team are in the early concept and design stages for the first WARHAMMER II DLC out post-launch.

I kind of like how RoR are currently one advantage the 'vanilla' races have against the fancier new races, but if I had to make a list of 'things that I think could be improved' they would be near the top of the last. I like the idea, but I really don't like the current implementation. I think at the minimum there should be a 3-5 turn or so cooldown on recruiting RoRs that have just been defeated or dismissed.

Top of the complaint list would probably be how public order revolts can currently be a great way to get money, experience, and magic items. Public order in general needs a revamp, both in mechanics and how the AI deals with it (it currently gets a large bonus depending on the difficulty setting and effectively doesn't have to deal with it, making any agents that reduce public order kind of pointless).

Alright, "Thoppa, Thwoppa" should be fixed. I also changed it to reduce reload time since it is impossible to give a % increase to splash damage. Technology should reduce reload times now as well, although the bugged range increase from vanilla is still in.

I'm not sure why the +% melee damage skill isn't working for blasting charge miners. Even if I specifically call them out in the skill they aren't getting bonus damage. I'll have to look into it some more.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Can confirm that Thwoppa, Thwoppa is working fine now, well done! Thanks for your great work!

This would make it largely a non-issue for dwarfs, greenskins, or wood elves though.

Which might work if it was balanced properly, greenskins are always in a riot state, and dwarfs and wood elves are both totally not the types to riot, ever.

The reasonable option would be to give all Order factions a broader "stability" like Brettonia's Chivalry that is drained while raiding lands of your own faction.

The comedy option for Dwarfs would be assigning a grudge to kill your own general for raiding Dwarf lands.

Self-raiding is really weird because of how incredibly rewarding it is despite being completely counter-intuitive; you generally make more money by raiding a province and smashing the rebels/releasing captives every turn than you would by leaving the province safe and stable, with the obvious cost being that you're tying down an army. Maybe making subsequent rebel armies spawning from the same province start off stronger and stronger would fix it, with a "cool off" timer that resets the intensity.

That's a bug but a kind of dope bug if you ask me. Chaos in SFO is pretty meh compared to fighting VCs and greenskins. So long as you get an effective counter to chaos artillery, I'd L U V fighting a fuckton of armored northmen and demons all the time.

SFO making Grail Guardians basically the Six Horsemen of the Apocalypse in concentrated power is hilarious. It makes heals very effective on them and their small unit size makes it easier for them to punch through thinner lines, squeeze between defenders, and just generally be badasses all around.

Joining allies in war with Mousillion gave me the privilege of having their hordes of skellymans attack me, but with such hugely boosted Winds of Magic I just kept using Awakening of the Wood to slow them down, in conjunction with Pox Arrows and the Holy Water Tebuchet which devastated their approach.

I've been out of the loop for a while, does the fact that Warhammer II is a sequel and not a Fall of the Samurai-type DLC mean that you won't be able to say play High Elves vs Empire in Custom Battles or anything like that?

Speaking of, one of the developers offered a clarification on how the mega-campaign provinces would work. We knew that in the mega campaign that the capitals would get extra building slots, but it looks like it'll be on a couple different levels:

CA posted:

Just a correction as I see this pop up everywhere lately.

Minor settlements remain at 4 slots.

Small province capitals (Those you currently see in Norsca) go from 4 to 6 slots.
Regular province capitals get an increase from 6 to 8 slots (1/2/3/5/7 secondary slots).
Special province capitals (Altdorf etc) go from 6 to 10 slots (2/4/6/8/9 secondary slots).
Athel Loren locations go from 10 to 12 slots (3/5/7/9/11 secondary slots)

This is for game 2 only and there will be new buildings, legendary and otherwise.

So the reason for the delay is that they're going to try and make it a genuinely separate campaign rather than just smushing the Old World and New World together.

Plus, there's going to be a preview of the New World map on Wednesday
