i checked age of consent is 17 in texas so he didn't need a romeo and juliet law. that makes the scene even more insane!

People who like Transformers are generally rapists, it's no wonder that scene exists in Transformers 4

That scene managed to make it past the writing, shooting and editing process of modern hyper fearful, ultra safe, squeaky clean Hollywood. Nope.

On the whole, I'd rather spin a wheel and have to watch a random Transformers movie than do the same and have to watch a random Marvel movie.

Where does spinning a wheel come into this why would you ever let a wheel determine what movie you watch that's really dumb.

Transformers 5 is just amazing in how loving terrible every aspect of it is. Anthony Hopkins may be the highlight of the film, if only because he knows the score and is hamming it up as best as he can. I don't even know why optimus prime is even in it.

Zzulu posted:Only the lesser countries do this. The ones with a less developed, worse population Eastern Europe dubbing is worse. They generally just lower the original voices way down and have one dude just read all the dialogue. Also, subtitling kind of suck I think. I generally prefer not to have them, especially in movies that aren't like dramas and poo poo, they draw attention away from what's actually happening in a movie. I also think whether a country goes the subtitling or dubbing route generally depends on how well funded their film studios or broadcasting networks are. I remember movies in Greece being subtitled and not dubbed, yet I wouldn't really rate Greeks' English skills much above those of say Italians or Spaniards. Every single dub I've ever heard changed the personalities of the characters by just different tones of voice and delivery styles. I hate them. The only dubs I can enjoy are ones from childhood cartoons and shows like 'Monkey' that I have a lot of nostalgia for. It helps that the dub for 'Monkey' is loving genius hilarity.

The people who do dubs in Poland have massive skill which allows them to blend into the background at least a little bit so that you can hear bits and pieces of the original performance and emotion in the actors's voices. It's still lovely though. Also, they used to dub live on air before betamax. One guy doing all the voices for the film he sees for the first time while it's being broadcast nationwide. The soviet tradition of voice-over is really weird. I watched all of Rick and Morty season 1 in voice-over russian and I could not understand any of the english because it was barely audible and the russian dub much louder. So why not just dub it and get rid of the english language track? What's rad about russian voice-over work is that it's just one guy doing all the voices, and a lot of these guys are hilarious and do their best impressions of the characters. My rick and morty guy was burping and did spot on impressions of all the characters, it was quite entertaining. .I understand the history behind it though. Western movies were all bootlegs, they didn't have access to language tracks, it was just some dudes in their apartment voicing over a VHS then sending that poo poo out.
