precision posted:The hostess clubs and such are entirely period accurate, the softcore porn videos are both new to Yakuza 0 and blatant marketing for actual current porn girls. I mean they aren't rendered, they are literally FMV cheesecake videos. I feel like that crosses an imaginary line in my brain for some reason. It's just so much more blatantly "here, ogle these girls dude" whereas the hostess minigame stuff is more like playing Barbie than getting off on it. 2033 and Last Light are the good games in that list. I liked 2033 more so get that one

I was leaning toward getting both Outlast and Megadimension cheesecake doesn't offend me, i'm not "offended" at yakuza 0, i just think it's both silly and also kind of lame to put in basically ads for real actual current porn in your game about manly men beating each other up and loving each other in the 80s

If you're willing to accept the premise the Nep games are fun if not really particularly revolutionary, and 7 (actually V-II) is generally regarded as the best one.

I agree with that. I never saw the videos you're talking about cause it didn't interest me. I also avoided the cat fights, but it's partially required, so I'll have to do it a little bit later. The telephone club though, that's hilarious as poo poo.

Idk what the gently caress they're thinking lol

There are at least a dozen NES games I would happily return to and play for hours in 2017. I can't think of an Atari game I could spend more than three minutes on for the "Huh, people were blown away by this back then?" factor

Maybe they're planning on integrating it into the phone camera somehow? That would explain the emphasis on eye scanning stuff.

I think the first game hits a pretty good niche on the line between being edgy for the sake of it and being edgy in an effective and scary way. Outlast 2 doesn't just go over that line, it fires itself out of a trebuchet over the castle walls of good taste and lands right on its loving face in a pile of ye olde pig poo poo.
