I guess in that particular scene he did it because it's a pistol he looted from a random security, rather than one that he brought himself. Presumably his regular guns are good enough that he doesn't have to worry about a misfeed, but you never know what random garbage got issued to hired goon #157. :v:
So I'm just now watching the movie and got to this scene, and for some reason I remembered this discussion. Now, I know I'm being a stupid sperg bringing this up again over a week later, but:
That actually is the gun he brought himself. But he was out of ammo for it so he had it holstered, and I suppose he noticed said goon having compatible magazines and looted one off him. If the .gif started just a couple second earlier it'd show him pulling the gun and grabbing the magazine.

Now that this most grievous of mistakes has been corrected, I can go back to watching the rest of the movie, which is pretty awesome btw.

Nah. I've got horses (and some mules). They'll do that stuff.

Heck, you ever seen chickens kill and eat other animals? It happens.

We're all mad here.

Seeing a squirrel chowing down on a severed bird wing was a little unsettling but it's not unheard of. And a deer would probably eat the squirrel given the chance. It's less of a food chain and more of a food web, I guess.

Much like seeing a giant fat woman eat a stick of broccoli at a buffet, nature is full of bizarre little oddities.

Herbivores aren't necessarily vegetarians, they're just not predators. They don't hunt, but if free protein appears in front of their mouth many will happily scarf it down.

It makes me mad when I go to all the trouble of having Marta cook up about a hundred drumsticks, then the guy at Marineland says, "You can't throw that chicken to the dolphins. They eat fish." Sure they eat fish, if that's all you give them.

Man, wise up.

That can depend on the season as well; deer can become a lot more aggressive during the rut. A hell of a lot of "herbivores" also do side work as scavengers. They won't do something like try to chase wolves off of a kill but will nibble at the leftovers after the wolves are gone.
