No, they don't. They only need to win about 24 races they had previously lost. This result's not as good as it needs to be but it's not the end of the world.

Pelosi may be a anchor but she also steadies the boat. She's been around long enough and has a lot of loving experience. If you don't think she doesn't then I'll remind you that Nancy Pelosi has been in office longer than some people here have been alive. Personally, I can't stand her but if you don't think she knows how to ratfuck people you'd be wrong.

Her not being in congress would be probably a more devastating blow than losing someone like Chuck Schumer.

If we had won these 4 seats we could have watched the House pass the AHCA, but with a really, really satisfying smaller margin though.

Most people aren't engaged enough in the political process to follow primaries. Furthermore, a primary race isn't the same as a general race. No one made Ossoff run his general campaign strictly on deficit reduction instead of on the massively unpopular healthcare bill.

"Nancy Pelosi's minion" is just code for "National Democrat" and is just a way to de-localize a race. In districts that have a certain tilt, nationalizing or localizing the election is usually key to winning because people are irrational voters.

If Pelosi were replaced, then they would just use someone else as a stand-in to tie Democrats in red districts to the national party.

Pelosi reminds me a lot of the public defender in My Cousin Vinny. Allow her to talk freely and openly and she's a fountain of sage political wisdom and years of experience. Put her up against a ~scurry~ opponent and she folds.

The mortgage interest deduction is a huge outlay spent mostly on people who don't need it; in fact it's a few multiples of the cost to rent an apartment for every homeless person.
