Still a rock defensively and his backchecking put younger players to shame. Having him on LTIR would hurt the team more than if he could still be playing.

For the most part, the jerseys look fine. With notable exceptions of NJ, etc. I actually really like the Vegas jerseys/colors, minus the weird pattern thing they have in the gold elbow band. Also, they would have been way more rad if they had golden helmets.

What do the new Wings jerseys look like and if my dumbass dog puts his paws on me will it make runs in the fabric like the old jerseys Edit: they didn't gently caress up https://twitter.com/detroitredwings/status/877370154144768000

Pens literally have to pay Vegas to take Fleury. So much for all that 'he's an elite winner and better than Rinne' that some Pens fans were going on about yesterday https://twitter.com/tsnbobmckenzie/status/877453227007987712

I'ma go ahead and say the entire effort to make the jerseys lighter is to add the weight back with ads.

The raddest thing about these jerseys that no one has mentioned is that the loving rear end bib is gone

Not sure if this was posted yet: https://www.broadstreethockey.com/2017/6/20/15838406/jordan-weal-contract-nhl-expansion-draft-rumors-free-agency-2017 Wouldn't quite surprise me. Raffle is the best known player left exposed by the Flyers, but Weal had a good end of year. It's still just surprising they protected Laughton over Weal. Preds chat: Neal was one of the only forwards who can score, so while I won't completely miss him, I really hope the Preds make a signing of someone in the off season to replace him (and losing his cap hit hopefully can help with that).

Nameplate font on Blue Jackets jersey isn't terrible but the spacing between letters needs to be increased.

https://twitter.com/SportsCentre/status/877496521176088576 Do you think this has anything to do with him making $1 mil next year in actual salary? Sucks that Hossa is done hockey, but really, why even introduce the cap recapture penalty The Dirty Burger fucked around with this message at 14:00 on Jun 21, 2017 |

So, this Hossa thing is the biggest piece of NHL bullshit since Richards' drug charge. The Dirty Burger posted:Sucks that Hossa is done hockey, but really, why even introduce the cap recapture penalty Because Burke was the GM of the Flames at the time and was annoyed that Vancouver signed Luongo to a reasonable cap hit. That's it. That's the entire reason.

Loqieu posted:Lol due to an allergic reaction, what a joke. This is exactly the loophole scenario people were worried about. It's basically impossible to prove that it's made up too. They can just prescribe corticosteroid allergy medication to Hossa, and that would rule him out of NHL eligibility. He wouldn't have any symptoms, but his medication would show up in drug tests as a masking agent or whatever and they couldn't let him back in. It's clever, but such garbage. I guess that's the "cap hit, no salary" contract the Yotes were looking for to get to the cap floor too.

Or maybe it's not made up. Yeah the timing is super suspicious, but we're all about a million miles away from it and hearing only third hand rumors. You don't know poo poo.

That's a shockingly convenient LTIR for the hawks after Hossa was saying right after they were eliminated that he wanted to come back.

Can't the Blackhawks just send him to their escrow team in Florida like they seem to do every now and then? And go figure we get the least fun option for the Penguins and Fleury. Golden Knights and Golden Horseshoes.

Bobby Ryan is going on LTIR with an accute case of suck-itis. Ah who am I kidding it's not like Melnyk would use that cap space anyways.

I don't doubt skin conditions are very real with hockey players, and I'm sure it's as real with Hossa as it is with any other players. What I question here is the timing of all this. Suddenly he can't put on hockey equipment and the hawks get some incredibly badly needed cap relief.

Seems entirely plausible to me that Hossa may have played in severe discomfort for a couple years when he was making big money, but no longer wants to once he's no longer making big money

Hossa's (short) statement hinted this has been going on for a couple years and has been getting worse. He probably saw some more specialists after they got booted from the playoffs, Blackhawks management saw the report and went "heyyyyyy wait a minute we can use this!" and encouraged him to take a year off to help Hossa/the salary cap. I can't imagine shoveling immunosuppressants down your throat is a good thing for a travelling athlete to do.

2 years ago I started breaking out all over in itchy patches that would come and go. Went to a dermo and he said that my body just decided to produce a bunch of histamines because it thought it was being attacked. This literally came out of nowhere and was miserable. So I took Allegra every day for about 9 months and then one day I realized it was just gone. Hasn't been back. The adult human body is weird and poo poo just jumps up out of nowhere. Add that in with a lifetime of wearing nasty, sweaty, stinky gear 6 or 7 days a week and I'm sure that something like this could definitely happen. What I'm saying is that I'm basically Marian Hossa.
