And that's just the damage to honeybees. I've read that neonicotinoids are much worse for wild solitary bees and stingless bees and bumblebees and all those cute little adorable flying things that everyone should love and protect

I mean why the everloving gently caress would farmers want to kill bees? It's the stupidest thing ever

Best you can do personally is to plant as many bee and butterfly friendly plants where and when you can. If you want to do a bit of guerilla gardening and sprinkle some seed mixtures in vergers or other margins outside your town, I wouldn't stop you.

I don't actually dislike Abbot but as someone with diabetes I cannot think of any reason why type 2 would cause you to gently caress up something like this. You don't really get hypoglycemia with t2. Seems to me an obvious attempt to give her a plausible excuse. For all May's faults, she has type 1 which should in theory put her at significantly more risk of those kinds of difficulties and yet she seems not to have.

This is not environmentalists pushing some sort of an agenda, this is a proven scientific fact. 2013 they were banned, 2014 the bee population went from; oh god where are they what is happening if we don't find out what's wrong nothing will be pollinated and all our crops will fail, to oh wow was that it, the bee population is starting to thrive, huzzah.

Because we worked out the connection between bee murder and Nicotine based pesticides and banned them. Bare in mind that there are now over 500 peer reviewed papers and reports that prove this connection, and the people with a vested interest in these pesticides keep on rolling out the same few pet scientists with their bullshit "evidence".

Oddly enough iirc it was discovered by a school child who was doing a science project, it's really really not hard to prove. You could even do it at home if you own a net. You take some bees and put them in with plants sprayed with nicotine pesticides, wait a bit and then they are dead.

This isn't quite true - my dad is type 2, and he would go hypoglycaemic every so often, usually if he'd continued to take his medication but had been particularly busy and hadn't got around to eating/drinking anything. Warning signs were him being very pale and sweaty, and if left for much longer, HUGE irritability and anger over irrational things/reasons, or conversations that didn't make any sense.

Umunna said he was sure Abbott would have preferred that an LBC interview, where she stumbled over the funding of a Labour pledge on more police officers, and others had gone better.

“We all have our moments in interviews – and I’ve had them myself – when people try to catch you out or you’ve been up since five in the morning and you get a figure wrong,” he said.

“But there is absolutely no doubt that a large part of the commentary on Diane not just during the general election but over the years has been driven by straightforward racism and misogyny and you just have to look in online to see it,” he said.

“It is disgusting and it has got to stop. Frankly it will put young black women off getting involved in politics.”
