It's more important to stake out a position that's ideologically contrasted to the opposition, because at least then you have a chance of bringing people over to your side or of politically engaging people who feel unrepresented by all available parties. Constantly chasing after the center assuming that you'll get enough votes to win an election may work every now and then, but it's not a truly transformative politics. You just end up with seated Democrats who vote with Republicans 90% of the time.

How many people outside of the suck zone know who the democrat whip is? Not many. Right now as the face of house democrats, she's doing more harm then good. Whoever holds that position needs to be able to do a good job of articulating what the gently caress democrats are about to the public. I don't go out of my way to praise Chuck Schumer but I think he's more effective in his role than Pelosi is in hers.

It's also a good idea to have multiple, redundant data centers so that you can continue to provide service if something goes wrong at one of them or there's a weather emergency that takes it offline. For example, Amazon's US East cluster went offline earlier this year due to an employee making changes in the configuration that they shouldn't have, but the US West cluster was humming along all day. Unless Ossoff was talking about getting rid of the massive facility the NSA built in Utah to store all our phone calls. We can probably get rid of that one.

Tell me why you decided to challenge Paul Ryan. I’m a lifelong resident of Southeastern Wisconsin. I graduated from public schools, went into the Army after that. When I came back, I was diagnosed with cancer and I didn’t have insurance, and now it’s considered a preexisting condition. I worked sometimes two full-time jobs to make ends meet. Finally, I joined the union, the Ironworkers Union, which had an apprenticeship. I got my journeyman’s card and I’ve been doing that for 20 years now. As I drive through the district I can look and see, “I worked on that, I built that.” So literally I spent the last 20 years of my life building the district.
