I kind of like the idea of Fisk being a secret nerd. He probably has one henchman whose only job is to go to mtg tournaments or wait in line for midnight releases on his behalf so that the other supervillains don't catch wind of it.

I can see Kingpin knowing who Gandalf is, or even comparing someone to Gandalf. I can't see him saying "Holy hell, she went full" anything. But maybe my view of Fisk is too coloured by D'onofrio and the 90s Spider-Man cartoon

Thor talking like Ali G would be less out of character than that.

I dunno, I can hear D'onofrio Fisk saying it in my head right now. He's a very versatile actor.

It's so close, but equally I feel if they were going for straight-up loss they'd hew a little closer to the structure. There's some tiny details that match up perfectly while a lot of big ones don't.

I'm not saying this is an intentional reference but I definitely think pro comic book people would water down a reference like that for plausible deniability if it was deliberate.

It's both. The symbiosis also leaves the host extremely vulnerable to psychic attacks. Basically anyone can beat up Venom.
