Goon Science Camp Project Ideas!

    :gooncamp:

  • Who is faster over infinitely long distances: Jason II with his jog and lovely shift or Jason IX / Savini whom cannot jog, but have excellent and fast shifts. My thought is that Savini and Jason IX might be comparable or even faster. If they absolutely blow him away, compare to Jason III who can jog and has a regular shift.

  • A study on the spear hitbox and general melee capabilities of Jason VI and Savini. How long (time wise) is the swing? Is the range significantly different?

  • How far away can the various Jasons hear a skillcheck fail? How far away can they hear the engine of the car or boat start?

  • How far can you throw a throwing knife?

  • Counselor races at full sprint to see how far each get before they run out of stamina. We know which ones are faster and have good stamina, but just how much of a difference does that make?

I wish we could have a free roam version where multiple people could be Jason, or we could just spawn poo poo we need.

I would love to do a side by side comparison with the Jasons. See how many shotguns it'd take to remove a mask. That kind of thing.

See, I thought that was the case, but another Goon said that they did do damage.

We know the bear trap can remove the mask, which is another thing to test for shits and giggles. Thankfully most of your suggestions are super easy to tackle. the bigger ones, like anything with the boat, require the game not to be a piece of poo poo and actually spawn the goddamn boat with everything to make it work.

If these have already been answered I've not seen them. THis thread moves pretty fast, sorry.

Test 1.

Do you know when the "chase" music kicks in with regards to a Jason and a Counsellor?

e.g. I'm Jason approaching a hut with a victim in. IDEALLY Jason's music should kick in say, 5 seconds before it starts on the counsellors end so IF Jason wants to pop stalk he can.

But if the music kicks in at the same time then the counsellor might get a bit suspicious if it starts up, then suddenly mutes. If you know what I mean.

Test 2.

Does Jason get alerted when someone crossed the threshold of his cabin, or just if they're in proximity?

Cool. I've got this idea that on maps where it's REALLY out the way (like Pakanack) I might be able to hide juuuust outside as a girl until the match ends. It MIGHT be just far enough away from the usual "stalk zones" most Jason's have and if he DOES turn up then I can nip inside real quick and sweater him for my escape.

edit: This is for my Tiffany lastgirl attempt.

Get a couple friends, bomb his house for the sweater to start the map, survive until tommy shows up, kill jason, profit

The prop can be very easy to miss and spawn in places you aren't thinking of. It can spawn on tables, on the shelves with the towels in that one house, basically anywhere a weapon can, etc. It's much less prolific than the gas or battery, which people constantly miss anyway.

On another note, it sucks to be left out of Duster's 24/7 PM - but it's a good thing that we always have full games and seem to be growing. Other night we had 2 full PM's I believe.

Just had two amusing back to back games. First one, I got to try out Part 2 Jason, only to glitch through the bottom of the floor and "die" after killing one person. Stayed with that group for the next match. Got murdered as Chad, but came back as Tommy in time to jump in the car. This is where it gets interesting: person driving backed the entire way across the map because Jason can't stop the car from behind. It was kinda funny to watch us escape while Jason kept spawning in front of us as we backed away from him to our freedom.

Yeah but we had literally everyone looking for it for drat near the entire match. Well

Okay

Venus was killing Terry but that's also a noble goal. I think we scoured every corner of the map for the fucker until the two minute sign hit. At that point I just told Venus to get out and Weekly to kill everyone else. Venus got the Tiffany achievement that way too!

can confirm. was playing Jason last night and I whittled them down to 3 survivors, and I caught the last 3 heading to my shack. it was Jarvis, aj, and tiffany so the plan wasn't hard to figure out.

I murdered aj on the way there and that made Tiffany chicken out but Jarvis went in anyway and Pamela's warning kicked off once Jarvis set foot in the shack.

Speaking... Does Duster have a job? Did he take time off for this game? He's like, never not playing, according to Steam. I don't imagine he's idling because I'm sure he got all his cards the first day.

He is in fact idling. Not sure if he has a job or not, or what kind, but he leaves the game on so he can jump in whenever.

Which thinking on it, might be why he crashes so much.

I seem to be able to host pretty well, but after four games I need to do a reset because of the memory leaks. Otherwise it hard locks.

Yeah anyone hosting should probably restart their game before starting a lobby. At least until the stupid memory leak thing is fixed.

I think my favorite glitch at the moment is when Jason flies off the map and dies if he's attacked while grabbing someone out of a car. The sickest Jason kill strat.

A lot of times I get an invite when a quickstart match has just started and I don't want to be the kind of rude rear end in a top hat who leaves a game in progress. I remember I was in a game where a bunch of people left and it was me, Jason, and one other person. That was a lot of fun.

As someone who put hundreds of hours into Dead by Daylight, I know this feeling :cripes:

My personal favourite is nearly every time they change the loadout UI, people manage to find a way to open the Killers' inventories, meaning they can mix and match abilities. Seeing Michael Myers sprinting down the road and chainsawing some nerd in half is totally worth the price of admission :allears:

I'm not sure how some one could play Dead By Daylight for as long as I've been playing Friday the 13th thus far. I only got DbD relatively recently, last December, and I never really gelled with it too well because there's not a whole lot you can really do. You run and fix generators and keep an eye on where the trapdoor is.

And it used to be, not sure if it's still the case, that you couldn't level up in private matches.

With Friday the 13th, there's just so much poo poo you can gently caress around with. The addition of vehicles and weapons and seeing how badly you can break both is really fun, and the best part is, you can que up a private lobby, do literally nothing productive towards the actual goal of the game, and still get just as much experience as you would in a real game.

The only time you don't is if you volunteer to be the person who tests the car or the shotgun on other players. Every gently caress off science camp match we had, we got full points for because it is a legitimate way to play the game.

"Should we gently caress around and put a boat on the car?"

"Why not, we'll get the experience either way"
