I'd imagine because it's just not as "fun" as the ones that get made about DSP. DSP you get the chance of him saying racist poo poo, blaming random people if he knows the names of anyone from X or Y group that made the game, blaming the game when it's really blatantly his own poor actions, accusing people of cheating online, finding ways to blunder into failing objectives in games that people didn't even realize you could, making GBS threads on the people who have or do support him, saying insanely ironic things coming from him, all that good stuff. Meanwhile Arin's just really bad at games sometimes.

Was about to recommend those videos. bhlaab made a surprisingly adequate game based around the misadventures of the MDC, based partly on their past videos and partly from the dumb games made for other Youtube personalities like the AVGN and PewDiePie. And then the MDC streamed themselves playing it. Definitely worth a watch. One | Two

It's weird when it's like they're trying to play it off, like an in-character thing, like Batman's all "I know how it works Alfred...God!" because I have a feeling a lot of these characters (at least the ones that aren't specifically civillians like most horror protags) probably did read their manuals and learn their specialist skills - it's why they are the best at what they do. I'm sure Bruce Wayne probably tested the hell out of most of his gadgets before taking them out on the road, you don't want to Grapnel to a gargoyle only for the line to immediately snap. Wei Shen has police training and a drivers license, he had to learn how to do his job first, sure the Sun On Yi got him started but the Police Academy honed him. Even Conan the loving Barbarian spent years of his life enslaved turning that loving wheel to build the muscle needed to break everything he needs to break. The Persona characters probably spend offscreen time memorizing spell prefixes. These are these characters jobs, they do them to earn the money to live their little offscreen lives, they need to know what they're doing.

I mean that whole video is actually pretty decent up until he gets to where the game "explains" how to do the charge shot in a cutscene and i just go "you're reading way to much into a tutorial level bro". Now the video where he complains about OoT being worse than Link to the Past....

The first Megaman game I ever played was X*, so I never knew about the charged shot until the main menu. He's got a point, what if people had never played the previous games? This was an interesting way to show it. *Note: the actual first megaman game I played was 2 or 3, I think. I don't remember, I was incredibly sick in the hospital at the time, so that poo poo's a bit fuzzy.

BTW Yahtzee started doing a new type of thing this weekend - making his girlfriend play a few hours of a game he likes, hoping that she'll like it too by the end. For reference her favourite games are easy games with lots of collectibles and 100% completion, so this one isn't really in her wheelhouse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhV0xsPaF8s

So our good buddy DSP is back in serious hot water, as he just got another copyright strike from Atlus for two of his Persona 5 videos, and now he doesn't have a managed partnership to protect him anymore.

ATLUS USA is at least aware of him; on one of his final Persona 3 videos, where he ragequits the game, ATLUS left a comment on the video along the lines of "The charm salt is real." Maybe it was a form of brand protection?

Yeah, I wouldn't say that DSP is a complete nobody lately. His trainwreck seems to have become somewhat well-known among the LP community, so yeah, may have been brand protection.

I like the idea of a game company selectively enforcing IP, not based on payola reviews or whether the video maker likes the game, but just to get rid of people who suck at playing the game.

Phil posted a giant twitlonger stating that he'd never play another Atlus game and both privated and canceled the entire 350+ part playthrough instead of just finishing it on Twitch. When someone is so transparently playing a game that a lot of people worked on for money, yeah, I'm cool with them getting a little bit hosed.

This is just my own personal opinion, and I genuinely can't even equate what you do to what Phil does, CJacobs. I really enjoy your videos, and I know it's bad for the ecosystem if publishers get ballsy, but 80 hours of non-commentary after a history of verbal abuse toward the brand is a good recipe for a random strike.
