Ok, I’ve been playing GW2 for about a year, and just got into WvW last week. Can anyone explain what the hell it means when it says I got “pips” while doing WvW? The website explaining the WvW rework says they are for a new Skirmish reward track, but how are pips different than the normal reward track bar that I get points towards every few minutes? For instance, last night, I was at 100% level 6 participation, and the tracker listed +195 points as the participation bonus, but when the timer got to 0, it would occasionally say I got 2 pips. I eventually got a wooden chest.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually had fun playing a bit of PvP today. How are Rangers supposed to play in it? I was using Greatsword/Longbow to harass people and switched between Raven and Krytan Drakehound pet for the annoying conditions.

Power Ranger/Druid is pretty classic but has sort of fallen behind to builds that are more consistent (spammy), also Druid isn't full of traits that make you great at power burst damage and elite specs run the show now. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Druid_-_Power_Druid This setup uses the pets for extra burst. I bit the bullet and checked it out because it is a MOBA after all and I love them, it also has characters from Aion, Blade & Soul, City of Heroes/Villains, Lineage 2 and loving Wildstar of all things. The rest are all "original" from MXM and they're all very anime

in my unprofessional opinion i get the feeling that it's not going to fare too well, because ncsoft doesn't really have a 'recognizable' stable of characters beyond a couple of vague exceptions

the MOBA not only has a rune system like in LoL but also weapon upgrades that affect PvP  stuff like that makes me appreciate GW2's PvP system even more

I haven't played since launch. Even then I only played for maybe 10 hours. Any protips for going in cold 5 years late? Especially a good, survivable class for PvE since that's all I want to see.

Especially a good, survivable class for PvE since that's all I want to see. Guardian is probably the most survivable class, though anything that isn't Elementalist or Mesmer is probably fine. General starter tips: Never just grind on mobs. That's awful. Explore, find events, whatever. Literally everything gets you XP. Hearts are there to guide you in a direction, but the real core to the game is the events. Do the events and stick around, there's often dialogue or another part to the event. Don't be afraid to follow event NPCs around. They don't walk five feet and despawn, they'll often go start another event, or become a vendor, etc. Always be gathering! Gathering is good money and xp. You can buy tools at most any random vendor. Sell everything you get at the TP. Don't vendor items. Nearly everything is better off being TP'd or salvaged. If you want some easy levels, be a chef. Getting max will get you 10 levels. There are two different type of consumable buff: food and utility. Have a good +magic find food, and get a Halloween utility candy and keep those up, they're worth bonus xp. Basically just go wherever you want and do what seems fun. Don't get stuck on completing zones. When you find somewhere new, check it out.
