Kushner came in with Israel's needs blazing and insulted Abbas by not even considering his position before labeling the folks imprisoned as 'terrorists' who should not be supported. Anyone who knows the thorny sitch between Palestine and Israel knows the violence is complex and cyclical, so while some of those folks may have actually been terrorists, some of them may have just been imprisoned by the IDF for being Palestinian in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even if all the folks Kushner was discussing were 100% actual terrorists, you have to make room to hear/acknowledge that some people are unjustly imprisoned and it's causing issues for Palestine, or else you're already insulting Palestine.

I really shouldn't need to be telling someone working in mental health this.
