(Maybe Lowry, but he's 31 and that roster is going to get expensive.)

The team's filled with 35% from three shooters, Teague would be a major settle. I think they would be better sticking with Rubio

Normally I would agree. But they're hellbent on getting rid of Rubio. And Teague can finish at the rim.

Point guard FA market looks a little thin. George Hill? PATTY MILLS?

Patty Mills can shoot 3s and would be a whole lot cheaper than Lowry.

George Hill would be a good fit, but he's also 31 which I think is pushing the window. Patty Mills seems perfect but I would be surprised if SAS let him go.

Jrue really seems like a Thibs player though.

What I think is more interesting, where would Rubio fit in? NOLA? NYK?

This would make me almost not too mad about him being traded because Rubio + Boogie and AD would be cool, but I still don't like it.

I feel as if JJ would be much happier basketball-wise in Philly but if he's dead set on Brooklyn he can probably help them win up to 22 games

No probably not, but that team is a tire fire and I think Rubio would help them. Rubio is a P&R PG. Ideal PG for the Phil Jackson triangle is able to hit shots from the top of the key outward, have a decent pull-up J from mid-range, and play good defense because you'll be pretty low-usage. Usually extraordinay handles and passing isn't used much.

Note: The Warriors frequently/mostly run a stretched-out version of the corners offense, which is basically the triangle. So you can absolutely adjust and feature whomever you want in the triangle, there's nothing special about it. Phil appears to want to run something very close to his version though.

Rubio needs a team that's missing a PG but can put a bunch of shooters on the floor, which is like...Denver and I dont know who else.

Dallas Mavericks: Generations

Why would they do that? They just drafted French Frank and should be giving him those minutes. I don't understand GM Phil.

Looking more and more like Clippers really are about to break up. I know they would have had a hard time keeping him but with him gone they can only be worse next season.

From what I understand Frank's going to need to be brought along slowly, and he definitely has the size to play both guard spots. Rubio as mentor then expensive short-term backup seems fine to me, I don't think they have any other PG under contract at the moment

"before the draft"

Man Phil really is a dumb guy when he gets blame for every single bad idea that the Knicks ultimately decided not to do

edit: seriously, that text you just read says "before they drafted a PG, Knicks considered trading for a PG" why's that not understandable
