Are there good sac, discard or mill options available? How quickly can you get 6 creatures to a grave in this format?

TheKingofSprings posted:Does it actually suck that badly? It occurs the turn you play it so it generates immediate value at least Assemble the Legion. The difference between 5 and 7 mana is significant. Also, Assemble the Legion will absolutely take over a game if given enough time, but since this requires input (dead creatures), it can be stalled out with removal spells or blockers. Like, on the 10th turn it's in play, Assemble is better than ever, but God-Pharaoh's Gift has a decent chance of being a blank artifact. Also, I don't remember Assemble getting much play (although obviously different environments, and I honestly didn't come back to the game until RTR/THS devotion standard).

The real question is if the format will slow down enough to allow 7 Mana grindy value generators to be relevant.

There's also a UWR control list that plays 1 each of Keranos and Assemble, if memory serves.

This isn't actually that overcosted. Many eternalize dudes are 6 mana, this costs one more and a card for haste and repeatability, on creatures that don't have eternalize and thus won't be costed around it. It's still probably bad outside of limited, but so is Eternalize.

The big draw to that deck was being able to poo poo out 2 mana X/5 trampling ingesting drazis that get really big really fast. Then finish you with the threaten-on-a-stick guy. Problem is, none of that matters with Fatal Push in the format.

I had an opponent in Standard Showdown that was playing some janky BR deck where he would play Hazoret's Favor and then play Threaten effects to steal a creature, get in a boosted attack with Hazoret's Favor and sacrifice it. So he's got two copies of Hazoret's Favor in play, steals my Tireless Tracker before I've had the chance to put counters on it, and I kill my own creature with Magma Spray. My opponent makes fun of me for killing my own creature, because he's so loving clueless that he doesn't realize that I'd rather not take a hit of seven damage from a stolen creature that's going to be sacrificed anyway.
