At this point that's presidential material.

I have really conflicting feelings about my dad and I'm not sure how to handle them.

My dad has been, for lack of a better explanation, in and out of my life. He and my mom are still married, but he'll just up and vanish for extended periods of time. The first time was when I was a toddler, and he was gone for almost a whole year. During that time a friend of my dad helped raise me, and I guess I started viewing that guy as my dad (dressing like him, stuff like that). I'm too young to remember, this is all just stuff said by my family.

My dad came back, we had some time together, then he disappeared again and we actually thought he was dead. But he came back again in his usual dramatic fashion and everybody was super happy to see him and totally forgave him for just disappearing.

The next few years were really good - I was growing up and he was there for me. I started idolizing my dad and wanted to be just like him. Then he left again. He said I was all grown up (I was 11) and left again, saying he had some big adventure he had to go seek. Then he came back 7 years later to try and re-insert himself in our lives again. Which, go figure, he did. It probably didn't hurt that, before he disappeared before, he left my mom pregnant with another son. Suddenly everything was all about him; I felt like I became a supporting character in my own life for a bit.

Which brings us to today. I'm now married and have a daughter. My dad hasn't disappeared, at least not yet. Things seem stable and I feel happy with my place in life. But I keep worrying something big and bad is coming.

My dad has recently started hanging out with an old "friend" of his. I put that in quotes because this guy is the worst possible influence on my dad. He actually specifically led to one of my dad's disappearances in the past. I'm really worried my dad might disappear again, or maybe something bad might happen to me.

This one's a bit beyond my pay grade; all I can say is be prepared for the worst just in case it comes around

I don't think this is true at all. I mean if you and your partner are 30 years old and he/she says "I cheated on someone I had been dating for 4 months in High School once" that isn't some sort giant red flag that they're going to gently caress someone the first chance they get. Now if their last 6 relationships have ended because of their infidelity, that's cause for concern.

I read the original statement as "If somebody has ever cheated on a partner, you can never trust them again". I said that was stupid because something that occurred far in the past when you weren't around doesn't mean someone should be branded "irredeemable cheater" for life.

The actual statement was "If your current SO cheats on you with their ex, you can't trust them", which I agree with and think that is grounds for break up because somebody sleeping with their ex means they still have feelings for them and don't respect you.

You didn't miss much. You can apparently watch five hours of the show in a row and see little to no plot progression. I only saw parts of a few episodes but (and this is the joke, I'm assuming) every time I came across it, the kid and his friends were getting their poo poo kicked in by some real bad dude, and Dad (their ringer) was always indisposed for some reason. He's healing up, or training, or fighting another bad guy, and hell, one time he was actually dead. So the kid, a bald dude, a triclops, some weird doll thing, and a baseball player spend episodes getting their asses whooped and dad is nowhere.

Skipping: another Alex Jones conspiracy fesh. It has aliens and stuff so I would have posted it if it wasn't also anti-Semitic.

quote:

I used to perv on my 17 year old step sister constantly. Saw her titties, sniffed her panties and socks, once jerked myself off with her pantyhose. Regular teen stuff. I remember when she went to prom I looked at her date and thought "lol I seen those titties before you". I was 13 at the time so this was awesome as hell.

The first time I kissed a girl I jizzed in my pants a little. I was 14.

I didn't have sex until I was 30 years old.

I wonder how much of this is related.

I am diagnosing you with acute goonosis

I'm sorry but I'm afraid it's terminal

quote:

I am a broken person currently in my 3rd year of therapy with no end in sight. All of this can be traced back to high school.

I developed early and was interested in girls early. My early puberty combined with the farm work my parents made me do meant that, at age 14, I was 5' 10" and 160 lbs of lean muscle. I would have been popular with girls if I hadn't been such a massive spaz and awkward weirdo.

There was one girl who didn't care about that, though. At age 15 I lost my virginity in the backseat of this girl's car, and we continued to have a relationship for nearly a year after that, with lots of sex. To 15 year old me, it was awesome. I was having sex with a teacher. A hot blonde teacher. I was living the dream.

I see now, through therapy, that she was controlling me and abusing me. She made me do things I wasn't comfortable with, ask me to blow off friends and family to be with her. I missed my little brother's birthday to have sex in a hot tub. But I was young and she was in a position of power. And the sex was good. Eventually she asked me to run away with her and start a new life, and my bullshit alarms finally got loud enough for me to hear them. I told her no and, the next day, she showed up at my parent's house with a gun.

Thank God, my mom checked the peephole before opening the door and ended up calling the police. She spent time in jail and is now on that list so she can't be around kids, but I worry because she was batshit crazy. I fear some other kid will get caught by her. Not the confession, though.

I haven't had a relationship since then. I don't trust people in general, and definitely don't trust someone enough to be romantic. I'm also really insecure about myself. She fostered that, always grooming me to be what she wanted.

I don't even masturbate any more, I find sex kind of repulsive since it's all still tied in to power and abuse in my head. I hope to break that connection at some point.
