How much space does the new Civic Hatch have compared to the sedan? It doesn't look like it's that much more.

yeah a lot of these new "hatchbacks' are really low on extra space, especially compared to sedans with fold down rear seats. at least nobody can look inside your trunk as easily as they can in a hatchback

I guess it depends on how rusty and where. If you have the skill/time to fix it it would make an awesome car. I've had a long running dream to do something similar and swap a Turbo Barra into it (before MCM did their Toyota ) $2k does seem like a steal. here's the article on that Celica http://www.stanceworks.com/2015/04/built-for-the-dirt-jon-roods-rally-prepped-ra64-toyota-celica/

Rot in the hatch (find a junkyard hatch) sills and some in the rear arches. And looks like surface rust in the doors. 2k is cheap for one with live plates. I honestly don't have the skills to fix the rust but I'm also wanting to learn

Arches and sills may not be such a big deal if you plan on rocksliders and big tyres! IIRC the hatch is a pretty common place for them to rust so finding a clean replacement may be non-trivial.

The Prius actually had some decent power off the line; the Jeep Patriot I had as a rental, on the other hand, was by far the worst - it made me feel like the car was actively trying to kill me (either via rage from it not being able to figure out I wanted to accelerate, or making GBS threads myself trying to pass anyone on the highway). tl;dr CVT is something I will refuse to own until I have no other choice (I'd tolerate it on a prius... that's about it) Galler posted:I keep considering replacing my Fit with a more fun hatchback but then I realize how much less useful every other hatchback is. There better be a in-universe explanation for 1) why are all your getaway cars bright red and 2) why is a dodge challenger one of them? I was going to see it anyway solely because of the J-turn to doriftu U-turn, and the scene with Jon Bernthal pointing forward...which might be the same exact scene. What's the protocol for dealing with a lovely salesperson at a dealership? My wife really likes the new CR-V. We've test driven a couple at a few different dealers. The last one we went to was the only one with an EX on the lot, which is the trim she's interested in. The salesman working with us literally could not find the keys to the one they had, so he pushed us into test driving an EX-L despite being told we weren't interested in leather. While on the test drive, not only did he display an utter lack of knowledge regarding differences among trim levels, but also didn't know how any of the features of the vehicle worked, like the lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, etc. He was also poo poo-talking previous customers he'd worked with. It left a really bad taste in our mouths. We made an appointment the next day at the same dealership to test drive an EX (it was the only one close to us that was open on a Sunday) and specifically requested a different salesperson. We came in for our appointment and happened to drive right by the guy who helped us the day before. We went in and a different guy began helping us out, while the first guy speedwalked over to us with a "WTF" look on his face. We were honest that we wanted to work with someone else, that we didn't appreciate his demeanor or speaking badly of previous customers, and wanted to work with someone else. It was super loving awkward, but we ended up test driving the EX which my wife loved and the new salesperson helping us was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so if we pull the trigger it'll be him getting the commission. Was this a dick move? We're the customers and buying a car is a big decision and a major purchase, so I feel like we were within our rights to do this. What does AI think?

Just because they were the first person to "pee" on you does not mean you are married to them. If he couldn't be assed to even get they keys for the car you wanted to drive you are completely within reason for finding someone that WILL get you the keys to the car you want to drive. The ownership of the awkward moment falls on him for being bad at his job. Being straight up with him for your reasons as to why you selected a different sales person is the right thing to do (You didn't get the keys to the car we wanted to drive, you belittled other customers, you generally have a lovely attitude) because it will either push him towards thinking twice before opening his dumb mouth OR it will push him out the door for him to find a job that he is good at.

Probably will just stay at motels that we come across on the drive, not sure how widely used airbnb is in the midwest outside of the bigger cities. I think my brothers neighbor is a airbnb, so we will try to book that for while we are in Minneapolis.
