The other side of this is that Harden handling the point was wildly successful and now you take the ball out of his hands

on the other hand if you run the rotation well you can have 2 of the best ball handlers in the league running the offense every single possession while keeping the burden relatively low on both so that they don't get worn down. And its not as if both can't spot up and shoot the ball. If they want it to work, it could really, really work.

Doesn't Chris Paul hate playing uptempo

Yeah, he wants super low possession games where he drains the whole shot clock and controls everything. When Gentry was with the clips he was constantly screaming at them to run and push the pace from the sideline to no avail. That's the only weird part to me but I'm interested to see how it works and they probably weren't winning a title as is so what the heck. They'll probably be less fun than they were last year though

look at that assisted %. Those are ISO plays.

The Event Finder isn't as clean as the shot finder, but using those same restrictions, over the last two seasons, last 2 minutes, need to tie or take the lead, I'm finding 2 assists from Carmelo Anthony

http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201701290ATL.html

That's for the 4th quarter. OT finds 0.

Image burned into my head was from Porzingis rookie year where Knicks were down one, Porzingis made a cut and he was as wide open under the basket as I have ever seen anyone, Melo keeps dribbling, launches up a bad three Knicks lose.

Are we sure Melo on a bad team is really helping the Knicks win more games?

considering Melo is now an overall negative player for the New York Knicks and is in the decline stage of his career, not to say anything about his repeatedly poisonous lockerroom presence? Yes.

Also pretend I'm emptyquoting a lot of what Dexo said on the pages 141-143ish about how hosed up it would be to do anything but buy Melo out. gently caress James Dolan and his inherited money

Two Tone Shoes posted:

So, Knicks fans, I never watch your apparently misery inducing team. How much do you think Justin Holiday is worth, contract wise? Because I'm really dreading blowing our 8.3mil exception on him as like a tagalong price to signing Jrue when we seriously need shooting and passing on the wings. If he's only commanding 3 mil on the market then we have two smaller exceptions that could fill that out, which is what I'm hoping is the end result here.

From way back, but--It's hard to tell because the Knicks are very bad, but I think Holiday was a minor bright spot this season. He kinda seems relatively uncoordinated and wasn't finishing well around the rim, but his jumper was looking decent this year and he should easily be worth 3m. He was coming up with a ton of hustle rebounds and I liked him on D.

Serious question is Masai Ujiri a good GM outside of the several deals he made fleecing the NY Knicks?

euphronius posted:

That, the Noah deal and insistence on the triangle are his three big sins probably

Noah was:
1) statistically better for the team than Carmelo Anthony, overall maybe their second best player this year
2) exactly who I want around Porzingis, and on the team in general clapping and yelling at everyone to loving play
3) overall a great stealth tank pickup

I hate to say this, but if they are dropping the Triangle a trade for Rubio makes a lot of drat sense. They can put other shooters around him, Rubio would make King Zing a beast, Melo would benefit from playing off-ball more. I'm not sure what they'd give up though.
