They'll try to avoid the bad press and go to a more traditional football nation. It'll still be massively corrupt though.

Yo it's way more than one or even 3 officials implicated in the Garcia report, it's 13 current or former ExCo members (Angel Maria Villar Llona, Michael D'Hooghe, Worawi Makudi, Franz Beckenbauer, Chung Mong-Joon, Amos Adamu, Reynald Temarii, Jack Warner, Richard Texeira, Chuck Blazer, Mohamad Bin Hammam, Nicolas Leoz and Julio Grondona), 5 'consultants' (Andreas Abold, Fedor Radmann, Peter Hargitay, Sandro Rosell and Amadou Diallo), and 3 misc football officials (Harold Mayne-Nicholls, Joe Sim and Guillermo Tofoni), aside from a whole bunch of people on multiple bid teams. Qatar will still keep the world cup anyway though so it doesn't really matter.

B.B. Rodriguez posted:Uh, you know US/Mexico/Canada already has a joint bid in that is almost 100% approved already? I'm worried that this is the direction the sport is going, with this pan-North American WC bid and then the all-Europe Euros coming up. Having a bunch of host nations just doesn't feel right for the big tournaments imho. Then again I guess it's better than Qatar.
