Stardust in context is way less interesting than out of context, honestly. Stardust is pretty much that kid who always had to win at playing pretend, so he always had a new power or ability that completely overpowered everyone else. And he mostly fights common criminals, so he only uses those powers for weird punishments. He's drawn in such a way that he even looks bored flying around; like he's just going through the motions since he never has an actual challenge.

The most interesting thing about Stardust is that it got published at all. Golden age comics companies were ravenous for content to fill their pages, and didn't give two shits about quality or coherence.
