Couldnt agree more, I almost hope a label producer forced Danger to feature this lil Brain character for 11:50. It seems too awful for Franck to endorse himself.... But you never know Aside from that, the album is monumental, love how each of his songs, no matter how tender they begin- always have a moment of intensity Personal fave is 6:42, the journey is incredible, Danger at his best

I just picked up Makeup and Vanity Set Chrome and I really like it. Been listening to it for a few days now. Is like to pick up more of their albums but they seem to have a lot. Any recommendations on where to start?

But you never know I kinda love how OTT the autotune is. He's doing a Future (the singer, not the genre) inspired tune and it works for me. Autotune is the modern vocoder and a vocoder always has a place on an electronic album.

I'd be interested in your production process. What DAW are you using and did you record those funky guitars yourself? Also I want to know where/how you got those amazing disco synths. I can also ask this in ML if that is better.

Danger mix on Diplo and friends. Interesting comparing his old stuff to his new stuff... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08t4gwd I prefer his old poo poo. New stuff has production values out the arse but his old stuff had tunes and melodies that were more memorable.

So, this song has been making the rounds in the remix department - RAC ft. Rostam - This Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcA0RmXnWhU It's a pretty loving gorgeous bit of synthpop and you should listen to it now.

I got really nostalgic before and dug this up: https://soundcloud.com/ajaxklassic/ajax-1 Couldn't find a legit source, but here's a SC rip. AJAX was a huge DJ in Australia about a decade ago. He died in 2013 and I saw his site has expired and now I'm feeling really old and sad. Awesome mix and it's taking me back to some really fun times. Every song is pretty upbeat and it's just so well mixed.

I'm embarrassingly ignorant of electronic music sub-genres but recently I've (apparently) been into garage house. I listened to a DJ set by Joey Negro and it was exactly what I wanted out of electronic music (sample track from the set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gobukd4y5s). Can you recommend similar sub-genres/related stuff to check out? I like the soul-influence on a lot of the tracks I've heard. Beautiful female vocals are a plus but not necessary.

DJ Koze did a remix of a track last year that was heavily inspired by the NY Garage sound: Lapsley "Operator (DJ Koze's 12" Extended Mix)" I'm also fond of this track which samples Gwen Guthrie's Peanut Butter. Compilations To Check Out: The Men in the Glass Booth ( recently released & absolutely fantastic) The Horse Meat Disco Series Joey Negro's Remixed With Love (or pretty much any other compilation he's done, there are tons) Dimitri From Paris's In The House of Love (other compilations of his are good too) Disco Re-Adventures (great re-edit compilation) Tropical Disco Hustle DJ sets: Greg Wilson's Essential Mix Larry Levan Live at The Paradise Garage (you may have to buy or :files: this one, I don't think it's online) Todd Terje @ Betalounge (Todd Terje's disco tends to be a bit more left-field, though this one is more straightforward) Some of my personal favorites: Chakha Khan "Ain't Nobody (Frankie Knuckle's Hallucinogenic Dub)" Womack & Womack "M.B.P. (Missing Person's Bureau)(Frankie Knuckle's Paradise Ballroom Mix)" Pet Shop Boys "West End Dub" Armenta "I Wanna Be With You (Pt. 2)" Gladys Knight & The Pips "It's Better Than A Good Time (Walter Gibbons Remix)" Jan Leslie Holmes "I'm Your Superman (Vocal)" Karin Jones "Under The Influence of Love (12" Mix) The Nick Straker Band "A Little Bit of Jazz" Suzy Q "I Can't Give You More" (title says it's an edit; it's not) Fern Kinney "Baby Let Me Kiss You" Michael Jackson "I Can't Help It (Todd Terje Rekutt)" The Willow Band "WIllow Man (Todd Terje Edit)" I'm gonna stop here because I could probably spend my entire day on this post, but I think this is enough to start

Speaking of disco, Louis La Roche put out an album a couple months ago that I feel like a bunch of people in this thread would like. It's disco/nu-disco/french house and is tasty. Here is a an album teaser posted to soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/iamlouislaroche/sleepless-nights-album-teaser

Just put together another playlist of classic hardcore rave tunes (my original playlist for those that missed it). This stuff can be a touch cheesy at times, but it's SOO good to just let loose to. A shame it died so fast after 1992. The only recent real rave tune I've come across is The Prodigy's throwback "Take Me To The Hospital". EDIT: Added another to the new playlist. EDIT 2: Found one more! Synthetic Hermit fucked around with this message at 09:25 on Jul 12, 2017 |

Once you follow enough producers/groups that you like on Soundcloud, like 150-200 I've noticed you'll get to this exponential point where it'll recommend what they are listening to and then you'll listen to the recommended dudes' stuff their recommendations and also potential followings' stuff and those potential followings and so on and you'll never actually be able to keep up with the insane rate of music output even in a handful of genres aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I don't know if this is the right thread but I don't know where else to ask: What loving genre is this? I love this kind of music but I can't find more if I don't know what the genre is and there's so many genres of electronic music that I can't figure it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNvBmhJe_L4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhsRrlFPR_M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaTmnNrP18U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yhpGBAvHl8 I posted four of them because I don't even know if they are all the same genre.

Its likely that Im late with this, but Im digging the hell out of George Clanton. Stumbled upon him while listening to a Google Music playlist. This is one of the best tracks Ive heard and well represents his style: https://youtu.be/6Mgluy492LU His music has an 80s synth retro sound mixed with Depeche Mode. I havent found a track I dislike. Dude looks like Dylan Roof though..
