Just saw that HR 1215 aka Protecting Access to Care Act of 2017 passed the House earlier this week. This piece of crap bill, for people receiving goverment subsidized health care (ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, veteran's plans): * caps medical malpractice suits at 250k for non-econonmic damages (like paralasys or death of a child) * puts the statutes of limitations on damages at 3 years * forces them into some lovely form of arbitration the lobbyists set up

Yeah this bit of hypocrisy is always great. Republicans are only against "Big government overreach" when it in any way helps the poor and middle class. You better believe that red states will do a complete 180 when cities dare to do things like raise the minimum wage so people don't need three jobs to get by or enact any kind of policy that helps a city's most vulnerable populations.
