I don't understand the maths behind the AE 2's molecular assemblers. How many Co-Processors do I need for 6 molecular assemblers connected to 1 Interface? Ah I see! It seems 8 per interface + 4 Molecular Assemblers is best. I did try it with 6 Molecular Assemblers per interface but you only save 1 second (5s vs 6s) but at the cost of tripling the height of the whole system. Makes the 20 16x16x16 Co-Processor arrays I made look kinda stupid, now that I've tested it.

Is there anything like the old Growthcraft mod for the newer versions? I liked how it did fermentation and such. The way it did mead was fun, too. I decided to throw together a pack for 1.11.2 and have been tinkering with Astral Sorcery and I like it already. All the stuff is super pretty and I haven't even gotten past making a wand yet. I'll have to take a look at Roots and Ember, too. Normally I go for weird automation setups, but in-world magic seems like fun. I can always drop back into Immersive Engineering or Thermal Expansion when I need to get some poo poo done, though.

Astral Sorcery is very pretty and also weird and in the realm of 'well what do I -do- with it?' For all my playing with it I only got as far as finding two things the mod does outside of working to build its own systems up: a box you place on the ground which lights up every cave beneath it in a huge radius, and a Skyrim-style Perk tree that you unlock by choosing a constellation to specialise in and then level by killing enemies. Both of which ARE rad.

Patreon seems to hit the right balance for most people, since it's ignorable if you don't care about it. For a texture pack it might be a decent way of identifying what mods/etc to support, since you can say 'hey, want me to support a specific mod? blah blah patreon supporters blah blah'.

gentlemen behold, I've put together a pack for 1.12. We've got Thermal Expansion, Astral Sorcery, Refined Storage and a number of other big names including Doomlike Dungeons, so it's well rounded out at this point. A lot of stuff is still missing like Crafttweaker so I haven't gone crazy with modifying loot tables or anything yet but ores are unified and everything should basically work. I present to you GRIMDARKER. I have a server up at 158.69.23.153:25565 but you're on your own for the time being because FTBUtils isn't working yet so don't expect to be able to use anything like /home or /back which is probably actually better from a gameplay perspective

Thanks for this but GRIMDARKER, GRIMDARK, and GRIMLITE are all released as "beta" versions and are fully available on curseforge (Twitch launcher). If enough crazy people ask about Technic versions I could put something up GRIMLITE is a 1.10.2 pack that should run on about ~4gb of RAM and older CPUs, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm in the IC2 stage of Age of Engineering (so, like Age 1?) and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing for power. I have a handful of IC2 solar panels, and a generator that eats obscene amounts of coal/charcoal, but I find myself needing more for my burgeoning Macerator/Extractor/Compressor empire. Is the answer just More Solar Panels (tm)?

Assuming power consumption hasn't been messed with: Solar panels provide 1 EU/t, the basic generator provides 10 EU/t. Macerator, extractor and compressor all use 2 EU/t each, so they should all run off just one generator. Throw in a batbox and you should be fine. The issue I'm having is with the electric heat generator - with two generators so far, I can only run it with two coils, which is painfully slow. Still, I've almost got enough slag to make the IE blast furnace - then I'll have to wait longer again to get enough steel to upgrade to the next tier (I used all my steel on a tool forge )

In Age of Engineering, I too have just entered the second tech level (the industrial age.) I ended up making IC2 windmills for power. To do this properly, you need to put the windmills up at y-level 149. Windmills need to be spaced 4 blocks apart, and power should connect through their bottom. (Windmills penalize you for any blocks in a cube 9 across, 4 tall, and 2 down, so connecting power via the bottom levies the smallest penalty.) The key trick, though, is to use an LV-transformer to step up the power at y-level 147. Since power cables have energy loss per block of wire, you want to emit the largest EU packets you can, and stepping up the power will cause the energy to pool in the transformer until it gets to the maximum packet size, then the single large packet will pop out of the output face. This means you waste the least amount of power on the 60 block trip down to earth.

Yea this is 1.12 I've heard of some people getting weird crashes, if it doesn't work for you locally try connecting to the server cus I can just fine and if you still have problems you'll prob have to wait til more things are stable or try things like making sure you're running the latest Java 8. Also if the mod isn't mentioned in the crash report it's probably not it, you could go crazy removing mods like that. This looks more like an issue with Forge

If you try to feed it with the copper cables, which are Tier 2, you may have trouble with things exploding. Step down the power using an LV-transformer, and connect the electric furnace using insulated tin cable. The way I run my setup currently is my wind mills dump into an LV-transformer nearby that steps up to 128 EU/t packets (give it a redstone signal or configure its GUI to always step up.) That goes down a long cable to the ground, where the power dumps into a CESU (tier 2 power storage.) I then step the power down that comes out of the CESU with an LV-transformer, then into the rest of my machines.

I've advanced to the calculator age in AoE and as per the guide I'm giving Progressive Automation a try. It seems straightforward but I can't for the life of me figure out how this mod's capacitor works. I've made sure the red side is aligned to my generator, but the generator is filling up with RF and it doesn't send any to the capacitor. I've now tried three different generators (survival, peat and the Progressive iron generator) but they all have the same problem, despite being able to send directly to machines if I leave out the capacitor.
