Keep in mind the majority of the free agents are still out there. Brooklyn can easily get 5-7 of those guys that are good enough starters and win via depth. They have their choice of any center on the market, cause where else are they going?

At this point I've become an Earvin Johnson Accelerationist so every bad move is one step closer to them toppling his statue and sending him away from the Lakers forever. Bring on Rondo. Strawberry Panda posted:Did he gain muscle? YOu know, it's been long enough I don't remember if he gained or lost the 20 lbs but I would imagine with his physique it was probably the latter.

I'm pretty confident that Philly won't make the playoffs, even in the new-look tire-fire East. Two rookies, a guy who's only played 30 games, and a starting lineup that's basically never played together before. That is not the recipe for a playoff team. Meanwhile the Trail Blazers are going to pay $136 million plus luxury tax to field a 9th or 10th seed.

All teams play 2 games versus each out-of-conference opponent. That's 450 matches during the regular season. Last year the East won 204 while the West took home 246. Season before that it was 218-232. (#s were mental math so may be off a few). Given how FA has gone, what would you set the line at for an O/U prop bet? East wins 200 feels high for the moment, but how low feels right?

The East is not a recipe for a conference but here we are. I see 6 playoff teams, especially if Miami gets Hayward. Then you have 2 spots for who knows what. Charlotte, Detroit, Indy and Chicago limping along. Philly doesn't need everything to go their way to beat that out for sure.

If Carmelo goes to the Rockets, LeBron might play 25 mpg until March and the Cavs will still be the #1 seed.

Yes, because it was the Knicks holding back the Cavs this whole time.

You lose 15 games per first or second year player you play in your top 7 rotation but maybe the East is bad enough that Philadelphia is still a playoff team.

Dang thats a good deal for the Nuggets, essentially just a 2 year deal for Paul Millsap is great. Not sure it puts them in the playoffs though Minnesota, Utah, Memphis, Denver, New Orleans, Portland, LAC all have serious playoff hopes and just 4/7 are gonna get in. I think they'll be slightly better than Memphis, Portland, LAC and New Orleans. SpiritOfSanDimas fucked around with this message at 06:20 on Jul 3, 2017 |

I dont' know what to expect out of the Clippers next year at all, in short periods Paul-less Clippers usually still played pretty well, but that sort of thing rarely holds up over a season.

Pelicans are gonna go 98-0 and beat up and foul out other teams every game on their inevitable march to glory, victory, and a championship parade that is somehow still smaller than any given parade with LSU or Saints floats. Asik will win Finals MVP and a mid-season trade will see Austin Rivers winning 6 MotY for them.

Maaaan, the east is bad. Like, I know it's been Lebron's conference for the last 8 years, but for the last two years the bottom end climbed out of the slums and it wasn't quite as embarrassing as the 8 seed Jennings/Ellis Bucks....but now we're right back there, aren't we. Goddamn. I wonder if we can have the 6-8 seeds all make playoffs with losing records. That would be great.
