Marching Powder is objectively the worst poster known. He also needs to learn how a keyboard works.

I got my Beta key to a cute little pixel dungeon crawler game I backed on KS a year ago.

It already has more of Star Citizen's promised features than Star Citizen has.

The network update

https://forums.inovaestudios.com/t/weekly-update-68/5548

quote:

Hey everyone it’s time for your weekly update. On the coding side the last week has been pretty productive. Flavien made a good amount of progress on merging the rest of the game with the new networking code. At this point most of the game has been ported except for planets – which is obviously a rather important omission. The reason planets haven’t ported yet is because one last big technical challenge remains.

Previously, before Flavien embarked on rewriting our networking code, all of the collision detection was done on the client. This was pretty straightforward because a player can only ever be near a single planet at any given moment in time so the game only generates geometry for planetary terrain patches that are visible. Unfortunately, as is customary to prevent cheating, we had to move all collision detection to the server during a multiplayer game. The problem is that the server must handle many players, we want to support hundreds, who are all traveling extremely fast around any number of planets. This means the server must constantly regenerate highly detailed geometry for the surfaces of multiple planets just in case something happens to run into it. It gets even worse once you add bullets into the mix.

Star Citizen is so hosed. It beggars belief.

Yeah. Difference being, Frontier hasn't been on the "open development" bandwagon forever and a day.

Plus they have a finished game.

Plus they never promised to give backers "open" access to dev, financials etc. Then didn't.

CIG did it as a way to get some random Sperg to go out and say "he saw poo poo". The same thing they do with streamers like that prick, BoredGamerUK

Sometimes model kits of WWII German subjects from European countries have funny decals because they are not allowed to print swazis so they make a red flag with a white circle in it that has an X and next to it on the sheet are 4 little legs you manually assemble the complete image if your some kind of monster. Reminds me of religious loopholes, like Sabbath compliant kitchen appliences or Mormons soaking.

AFAIK, it wasn't a leak by TheAgent. I wrote about that months* earlier; even arguing with Ben Parry over at FDev about "levels". It was glorious. He stopping posting shortly after.

Basically, it all started when I saw "Da Worm" and realized that they were using scripted trigger points. I watched the presentation again, then noticed it was even more obvious. Then we came to find out that it was all staged R&D bullshit. :colbert"

If you don't believe any of it; believe one thing: the part about the planet being #justanothermodule because I have written extensively about this in the past, even sparred with one of their devs Ben Parry over this very notion of it being a level, rather than a seamless transition like what they have shown in their tech demos.

There's a lovely article in the sidebar about why it's important to not accept transgender people. I particularly enjoyed the reference to Picard's "the line is drawn here" speech from First Contact. Because Star Trek is all about intolerance and refusing to accept societal change. Not to mention that immediately after that speech, Picard realises he's being a dick who's letting his heart rule his head and changes his mind.

Yeah, outside of tv docu stuff and movies, swastika are a no go over here. Especially in video games (Wolfenstein etc.). Sometimes they are allowed in humouristic tv stuff, but it's a touchy subject.
