I remember someone here wrote an app and got a free playbook that didn't work and bb refused to honour the warranty because they didn't supply it. bb told them they had to contact the 3rd party vendor who organized the playbook giveaway for warranty support because even though it was branded as a bb campaign they had nothing to do with it and those playbooks had no factory warranty. the bb forums of course supported this and accused the poster of trying to make bb look bad when this wasn't their fault at all.

Yes, LOL. It also had a menu thing that slid down from the top of the screen, then slid back up when dismissed. You accessed it by swiping down from the top of the screen. You dismissed it by swiping it back up, right? Nope. You made it slide back up and out of view by swiping down again.

I liked the part where people who frequently lost their blackberries always bought a new one and had a new bbm pin and every few days on your facebook feed you would just see someone with a new bbm pin. i also really liked the part where, if you're trying to shut down and there were notifications, it would stop you from shutting down In addition, the part where if you were almost out of battery, it would put itself into a powersaving mode where it would shut off all wireless radios and turn the screen to almost zero brightness, so you couldn't send any messages or call anyone, but you also couldn't shut down.

I like the part where they made 3 top-end blackberries but each would have 1 "good" feature like wifi or 3g or a usable amount of memory, and you could not get one which had all of it.

when the playbook came out I worked at a store that featured it prominently because we didn't carry iPads yet I figured out how to look up the sales statistics chainwide and I think we sold under 500 units in the first week

If it’s true that Apple is going to release three new iPhones, my bet is that they’re named the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus, and iPhone Pro. And I hope the iPhone Pro starts at $1500 or higher. I’d like to see what Apple can do in a phone with a higher price.
