There's absolutely no problem with ending (english) sentences with prepositions. It's a completely made-up rule that's been rejected by Strunk & White, Garner, and probably every other respectable usage manual for many years.

Unless you meant that ironically, in which case you should take this post as meta-irony.

Actual conversation iv had:

"When it comes to campaigning it's going to be really important to articulate a better future that involves things that directly affect people rather than abstract appeals to moderation or niche federal policy issues"

"But I'm not an expert on economics and health insurance; I'm qualified to talk about national security"

"People fundamentally recognize things like single payer and universal basic income as good. You don't need to be an expert to make a moral appeal to voters. The GOP does this all the time"

"I don't see how going farther to the left is going to win us any elections in this current political atmosphere"

[insert back and forth over Ossofs numbers versus Quists]

"It's not about where it falls on a left right axis. It's about advocating for things that will DIRECTLY make peoples lives better. That has much farther reach than "I will stand up to evil foreigners""

This went on for 3 loving hours :shepicide:

it seems like letting veterans near foreign policy would be a bad idea since they've been explicitly conditioned to think of foreigners as subhuman in order to make shooting them easier :thunk:

Some of them certainly are but a lot are just apolitical and not used to stepping outside of their comfort zone. Besides my entire spiel is always couched in the fact running a conservative democratic platform isn't a winning strategy regardless of your personal views . That's why this is so frustrating. You would think that people would want to win.

It's more complicated in the cases I'm talking about. They always say "I agree with you BUUUUUUT" with the excuse that going further left isn't a winning strategy.
