Floyd threw 36 punches per round in the Manny fight, about 12 per minute. With an accuracy of 34%, that's 4 punches a minute. Conor over his career has landed 5.8 significant strikes per minute, at 47% accuracy, so also about 12 thrown per minute. Significant excludes light punches from the clinch or in ground and pound. Note that Conor has mostly stopped his opponents early, so you could easily argue that his work rate over 12 rounds would be much much lower. This all says very little about what either's work rate or willingness to work will be in their fight.

Are you going by the compubox that numbers that apparently separate power punches and jabs? I'm kind of curious when (if ever) compubox stats say a jab becomes a power punch. Is every lead hand straight punch at the start of a combination a jab in these stats?

Conor will gas out because, despite being a small man and not having to weight cut, he was sucking air after 7 minutes with Nate Diaz. Then, after becoming a hermit and spending a fortune on his camp, he was able to extend that to 9 minutes.

Legally if you cum in a MMA match you lose under the new ruleset but nobodys taken advantage of that yet.

Boxing isn't remotely more taxing or difficult than full on MMA. That's just plain silly to even think. Yes boxing has for more technically refined striking to fit inside it's restrictive ruleset. MMA striking is markedly different because there are flat out more things to worry about than just someone's hands. Also actually grappling with someone is one of the most physically exhausting things you can do period, let alone punching and kicking at the same time.

Just like MMA, boxing is as tiring as your opponent makes it.

I think boxing fans may have confused their sport (so easy even children and kangaroos can do it) with talking to them (extremely tiring).

Whats the point of arguing about which sport that you dont compete in is the most physically demanding. dont you all at least have something a little more personal to be smug about, like your deadlift prs or whatever ?

So here's an actual question ; before big fights I like learn about how each fighter would win, and what it would look like when they're winning. You know, general strategies to watch for, things that should sound an alarm bell that you're seeing a fight work out as one fighter wanted. Like for example, I think the earlier rounds are the most important for McGregor; his best bet will be to blitz Mayweather in the first round or two, hit him with something unusual and then follow it up with a hard finisher. So maybe look for McGregor to land an awkward but surprising punch and then follow it up with an entirely unrestrained flurry; likewise look for Mayweather to suddenly look old fighting a man 12 year younger. Be particularly worried if fast undercard KOs send them into the ring cold. Now more likely, look for Mayweather to be very cautious at the beginning, stay well away from McGregor and avoiding trading punches. As the rounds go on and McGregor tires and his punches get sloppier and more predictable, look for Mayweather to counter punch. What are some other possibilities? Neither fighter is eager to throw because they're both counter punchers? McGregor moving forward into closer range but not actually punching (I believe Mayweather has shown he's not at his best against that strategy)?

McGregor is going to eat a DQ and come out with a flying knee after the very first bell.
