No he's right, I did not enjoy my time at all with Snake Pass. I was hyping it up before release, bought it.. and the controls are loving terrible. Just could not grok the movement whatsoever. HD Snake Rattle N Roll remake IMO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZd1Almdwug

While I was walking into work today I was hit with an idea for a Fire Emblem x Advance Wars game with a plot inspired by the modernization of Japan's army. I really want that now.

Movement has a steep learning curve for sure, and it's kinda dumb that they wait a bit to tell you how to grip around poles, but once you know how all the buttons work together it's not too bad. Mastering the controls really do seem to be the main challenge of the game, but the game's also forgiving enough to keep let you retrying for power-ups without any real penalties. I've only played three levels so far though so I may end up hating it later on. For now, I like the unique approach it takes, even if it's difficult to make the snake do what you want at first. Also, Stardew Valley is great and really the direction the Harvest Moon series should've gone instead of whatever the hell direction they did go.

Brought my Switch to the family weekend, had a blast playing with everyone. Then let it out of my sight for 5 minutes and one of the brats managed to put the joy-con straps on backwards. Fortunately this video saved my rear end easily without breaking anything. A must-see and should be in OP! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8iWePQ_ZCP4&feature=youtu.be

It'd be cool if as soon as you pull the Switch tablet out of the box it played a video on how to properly attach and detach the straps. I broke the lock on one of them on the first day.

Nintendo of Japan at least published an official how-to in how to deal with wrongly inserted joy-con straps, it's weird I haven't seen similar videos on the other Nintendo sites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMMIYWpROsw

Snake Pass is neat and the whole point is learning to snake. If trying to wrap your head around an unintuitive control scheme until it clicks and you become snek sounds fun to you, get it! If that sounds bad, get something else!

I am always extremely paranoid and cautious when it comes to handling new hardware. I was reluctant to even use the kickstand or open the SDcard slot too wide for fear they might break off and I examined the Joycon straps for a couple minutes until I was sure I understood how all the parts fit together

I have to say, it was brilliant of Nintendo to make controllers instantly pair no matter what if they are connected to the switch. I had a couple of friends over last night and we were going to do some 3 player ARMs. I have two sets of joycons, so does one of my friends. The fact that he could just snap his joycons onto my switch to pair instantly (and then the same to go back to his switch later) makes stuff like that so much better. No more screwing around in menus and waiting for things to sync up. It's so much better than I remember about when we had to do the same with Wiimotes.

That's dumb, fix a thing, release an update, fix another thing, release an update. I bet NBA playgrounds users would be happier taking an incremental update every day than dealing with the poo poo the devs pooped out on day one forever.

Yea, syncing has never been fun on Nintendo consoles, until now. It's cool too, how they recognize the color of the controller in the interface, which makes it easier to figure out who's P1, P2, P3

Depending on how the game is built making a small change can require replacing large files.
