I recommend Sling Orange + Sports Extra which will get you espn espn2 tnt and nbatv for a cool 25 bucks a month. Try that out when the season starts and mix it with reddit nbastreams to check out teams to see which one you really like and then you can pay nba league pass to get the local games

Performance can be a mixed bag but console apps generally run fine 2) Houston's going to be fun, good, and probably won't win the title so you won't be a frontrunner. The Timberwolves are probably the basketball hipster choice if you want to follow a fun mediocre team now that should be really good in a few years. Edit: sorry, Milwaukee is definitely the basketball hipster choice 3) I'm trying to remember the name of some site I saw recently that was exactly this, but in the meantime Zach Lowe's articles typically have a lot of videos and in-depth explanation of what's happening on court. Here's something he wrote in the Finals.

Depends on your timezone I guess but the east is a graveyard right now. There's the bucks if you want to watch the growth of a rising superstar in giannis. and that's about it. The west has alot better entertaining teams to get into right now: There's the rockets with james harden and d antoni who just added chris paul. There's the unfortunate pelicans who is going try to figure out how to mesh anthony davis and demarcus cousins together. The thunder is on a one year watch to see if the league mvp russell westbrook and one year rental paul george will enjoy their time together enough this year to stay on the team or both move to the lakers. And finally there's the nba champion golden state warriors if you want to bandwagon the heavy title favorites quote:3) Are there any good resources for understanding terminology and strategy? Like, I remember enough about the basic rules, and I know broadly what each of the positions are supposed to do, but I definitely don't have enough knowledge of the game to appreciate what's going on beyond "gently caress, that big man plowed through that defender" This isn't really at all a book about learning the game but it's probably the best book written about the nba so you could check it out if you want to really get yourself immerse into the nba https://www.amazon.com/Seven-Seconds-Less-Season-Phoenix/dp/0743298136

Bucks are probably the most exciting -- Greek Freak is a monster.

Jenny Angel posted:EDIT: Wrong thread! Best big mans in the league ATM are Rudy Gobert (Utah, a fun team but in an unfortunate position after this offseason), Nikola Jokic (Denver, the most fun to watch IMO and a cool team, unlikely to compete but guaranteed to be pretty good), Karl Anthony Towns (Minnesota, made huge moves this year and will probably be extremely good going forward), Joel Embiid (Philly Twitter darling and possible all timer but also possibly will wash out due to injuries without ever playing a single cumulative season, promising young team but basically nothing but unknown quantities), Deandre Jordan (Clippers, perpetual also rans but not likely to be bad anytime soon), and the New Orleans duo of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, one a quick and rangy big with a hideous sense of personal grooming and one a widely derided grumpus who is actually cool and good. Big man talent level has been low compared to the golden age of the nineties until the last couple of years, this crop of guys is almost all from the last 5 drafts. I'd say watch some highlights of them (Rudy, Deandre, and Joel are the blockiest, DeMarcus and Deandre the plow throughiest, and Jokic, Davis, and Karl the slickest) and get a sense of who seems cool to you and that'll narrow it down. The Bulls are a major shitshow of an organization so that way lies sadness, I know you're in NY now but those teams are not a good way to get involved either. The Knicks do have a decent young big in Kristaps Porzingis, but he's a big step behind the others I've mentioned and the Knicks have terrible management.

Also for your love if bigs Steven Adams and Enes Kanter (THE STACHE BROS) are a lovable duo that features very brute defense with Adams and ballet-esque footwork in the post with Kanter.

I think the Bucks are the pick: -- They're in the Eastern Conference, so you won't need to stay up past midnight to catch games -- They play a very 90s style, not many threes, a bunch of ground-bound big guys and one star that runs the offense mainly by dunking on people -- They're going to be feeding minutes to a Manute Bol clone this season -- Good uniforms and cool-looking court design -- It's a good excuse to buy one of these: morestuff fucked around with this message at 04:47 on Jul 10, 2017 |

He is cool in that all he does is dunk and block shots but having to work around his limitations is also the reason they play slow as gently caress so it's a give and take. Also his presence scares other teams out of going into the paint which forces lots of bricked midrange shots and ugly floaters

If you rooted for the Bulls during the Jordan years, you need to root for them through the Cameron Payne era, come join the SAS Bulls fans and angrily rant at the front office which has an angry bald coach-choker and what appears to be a weird iguana man, a howdy-doody doofus coach who will literally die if he wears a necktie, and a team that currently has a million useless point guards who can't shoot, a bad big whose only skill is bulging out his eyes to defer predators, and a first-ballot hall of fame legend cashing a check who might actually just sit on the bench with a pina colada while Stacey King attempts to scream warnings at players for leaving Lauri Markkanen alone at the three-point line although he probably won't be able to pronounce Markkanen and Neil Funk probably will call him Larry for the entire season.

Just be like every other noobie fan and bandwagon the Warriors. They are not as big as other teams but they are big enough and are extremely talented and smart and they pass the ball like a video game and play relentless defense and probably no one else is going to have much of a chance to beat them for a few years so rooting for anyone else is likely to be an exercise in frustration. A huge plus is getting to root for the leagues worst current villain Draymond Green whom I love with all my soul Downside is enduring all the hatred from other fans, the techbro jokes, plus if you ever get out to the Bay for a game trying to scalp a single ticket in the rafters will cost you more than your first car cost predicto fucked around with this message at 06:59 on Jul 10, 2017 |
