Don`t edit my posts because I make a joke about girls who can`t park their spaceships manually. I don`t care for your feminist`s telling me how to talk. Bull. I can make jokes about men I will make jokes about women too. We`re getting tired of you feminists and idiot mangina bs for wimmins. Learn to take a joke. And if you bann me that just proves my point of where society is going. You feminists wreck our games just as you`re slowly wrecking society.

This is their original group and name. They had to change it for E:D for obvious reasons. And some dude named Stellar Aryan is taking over Space Poultry. So when you see posts like "Don't you feminism me, get back in th kitchens!" it isn't really surprising.

Turning in bounties gets you rep with the faction who issued the bounty, so yes. That's definitely one way to get rep. Or you can haul in freight. The profit you make translates to reputation with the controlling faction you sold it to. Same goes for combat bonds and exploration data.

Mercurius posted:Combat rank gain is from killing ships at a higher rank than you so yeah, just keep shooting things and it'll go up on its own. Also, don't worry about your combat rank. Your combat rank does not change what missions you can and cannot take (as of a few updates ago). All it does is change the type and loadout of ships that will spawn around you. As a side note it's also an incredibly tortuously, glacially slow grind to get to Elite combat rank. I've been playing for 2 and a half years and I'm at 7% Dangerous, and about half of my play is bounty hunting.

Feenix posted:Sorry, I meant specifically for taking kill-a-dude missions. Sounds like I just do bounties till I rank up from Harmless. Thanks! Oh. You mean combat rank? That's a whole other loving horrible thing. Each ship you kill has their own ranking, from novice up to elite. As you increase in rank, you stop getting XP for ships ranked too low. Where I am, the penultimate rank of Deadly, I need to kill approx 1800 points worth of ships, and the breakdown is as follows: Harmless -> Competent: 0 points Expert: 0.25 points Master: 0.50 points Dangerous: 0.75 points Deadly: 1.00 points Elite: 1.25 Points Taking into account the distribution of NPC pilot rankings, it takes around 2400 valid ship kills to go from deadly to elite. It is by far the most tedious ranking to grind up. Trading just requires you to make a billion credits in profit from selling commodities to stations, and Explorer just requires like 200 million cr worth of exploration data turned in. Being the stubborn rear end in a top hat I am, I'm insisting on ranking up my combat to elite before I hit elite on the other categories.

I get missions on the mission board that say things like: " go eliminate the pirate lord Han Solo!" This mission requires "mostly harmless" and your rank is "harmless" (in red text) and it is under the "requirements not yet met..." section. And the Accept button is red-ed out.

for wetwork missions should I be bringing the item that scans the ship for cargo and passengers? I had a mission drop me into a area with 4 ships labeled religious followers and my target was talking in local. looked at the contacts and scanned the ships and it didn't let me know which ship he was in. I thought the game wanted me to do some detective work so I started shooting the only ship that was tied to the company my target worked for. I destroyed the ship and got a bounty for murder. did not complete the quest. did I pick the right ship but I needed to scan first? is that item better then the fsd interdictor for these types of missions? I've done a ton of assassin missions and they say to bring one but I've never used it.
