He might not be the most dynamic character out there, and he absolutely needs his BSB to make any use of his own chain, but he's respectable.

What's a decent strategy for trying to speed run these Jump Starts if your only access to Cloud's USB is via RW? Seems that Last Stand and imperil are a must; this is what I could come up with off the top of my head: Selphie - USB Raijin - Aura SSB (noncharge, regen, last stand) Ramza - Shout, Chant, Breakdowns Zidane - BSB Cloud - BSB2 The only other imperil/en-element physical combo I have is Basch and Beatrix with holy, which I suppose would do well as an AOE option. I really only know my elemental bursts, but it sounds like Cloud shenanigans extends the usefulness to SSBs now (ie Luneth's Swordshower). Are there any other SSBs with a high multiplier?

SSB(/USB/BSB entry) multipliers are pretty consistently around 7.5-8x (750-800 potency), give or take some variance for added effects. The important thing, with regards to SSB potency, is the number of hits an attack does. While Cloud USB makes it less important to have high hit counts since it cranks the damage cap so high, any hits you're doing more than 4 digits of damage with will be a net gain. Being 8 hits is nice for when you don't have Cloud USB - 8x9999 isn't quite to the OSB levels of 99999, but it's close - but saying you do 8x15k is going to be functionally identical to doing, say, 4x30k or 2x60k. It's still 120000 damage. In this example, Swordshower is partially good because Luneth is diverse - he can self-buff with Dark Bargain (or, if you were lucky enough to get it way back when, Advance), has a BSB that provides an en-wind effect (as well as at least one weapon that provides +wind damage), and was being pitted against a boss in the realm he has synergy in, weak to his SB's element. I just honed up an Aerora Strike for Zack. I don't have his BSB but I have his CSB and a lot of other wind SBs for other people as well as a lot of wind boost gear so I should still be alright.

3% is how slight. In fact the whole Bio tree, except for Chain Biora (which instead gets a 2% chance per hit) has a 3% chance to poison an opponent. No, I have no clue why that even exists beyond the ability to get lucky on a boss vulnerable to poison (very few).

The only time you get automatic RMs is: -When you use an MC1 (level 50) -When you reach level 99 The rest of the time using an MC2 or whatever just allows the character to have a chance at that RM dropping (sometimes only in specific realms)

And a truely rare handful of cases require special battle requirements like Cloud and Kain. They gave up on that but considering clouds mako might materia is highly coveted, and the one before it is a requirement, always check the library.

Yeah, I was aware of some level of RM only having a chance to drop (something about repeating 1 stamina dungeons to force the drop?), but wasn't sure which one, and I had just used a generic level 50 lode 'on a character' and was partially panicked when I did so and no mention of an RM happened. I've only started taking on difficulty 99 dungeons in events, and it's fun as heck to mash together the hodgepodge of FF action figures and 5*s I've gotten over the fests and lucky draws.

Whew, A+ was an adventure since I opted not to go for Cloud RW. Rhitahtyn hits ridiculously hard so I brought Shout and nearly my full physical mitigation (Mog + Zidane + Yuffie) and ran out of hones on Yuffie near the end. It's a recurring problem for her really considering how fast she can burn through her hones. Went perhaps a bit too cautiously, but Mastered in the end.

Finally caught up on XII yesterday. The CM was actually pretty tricky, getting just the right amount of luck. Though I only have like 4 unique RS relics, 2 of which are crap. RNG played a big part too, as those drat rooks didn't random gangbang one character to murder them at as bad time. The A+ was a bit more difficult for me than I would assume most people. I sorely lack Ice relics. Too lazy to look for a viable phys ice burst (not bothering with Squall RW with Cloud USB), I decided to go with Edea RW on a mage team. Still, I could only really manage to optimize it for one person (Alphinaud in this case). At the end, the combo of Edea and deployment tactics won this one. JS will be interesting... On a side note, Deployment Tactics has been my unsung hero for A+ battles. Without native OK BSB, I've had to rely on all of its buffs, a lot. Plus, that reflect damage has given me the edge on a poo poo ton of close battles. Especially when the boss has a sliver of life left and starts bullshitting random spam, it comes through in the clutch to eliminate them fuckers for good. Maybe just maybe this game will bless me with literally any faithga BSB one day.

The new dailies in JP are insane. Same amount of stamina per stage on the XP daily that's available every day now, but the XP has effectively been doubled up to 488k First clear + mastery rewards for each of the individual orb dailies is five 6* crystals + eight 5* orbs for the 100 stamina one (50 stam * 2), and six 5* + four 5* for the 80 stamina (40 stam * 2). Kinda unfortunate that you have to choose between the two whether you want magic pots to drop 5* orbs or 6* crystals, but the magic pots on the 5* stages actually drop 2 orbs on death instead of 1, so that's kinda nice.

The A+ was fun this week, I ran with three support (Cait Sith, Ramza and Faris) just buffing attack and debuffing defense, and then Refia punched him to death pretty much on her own. On the JS I even managed to knock him out before he could do his super attack, which was very satisfying.

You guys were right about Nabaat BSB being crazy good. I was able to beat the non-JS A+ with a dark imperil team with Nabaat for imperils and Gabranth BSB for damage. Some decent mitigation and judicious use of physical blink party heals got me through.

Same amount of stamina per stage on the XP daily that's available every day now, but the XP has effectively been doubled up to 488k I don't think the 2 orbs from pots thing is guaranteed, as I only got one from the pot(s) I encountered. So far the new orb dailies have been really disappointing. The pots still only seem to show up about once per 300 stamina. When you consider it takes 44 major orbs/crystals to go from R1 to R2 of a skill, and how rarely majors/crystals drop, that would literally be months of farming a daily to get enough for even a low-end hone. They're probably slightly better than what we had, but they're still not worth doing at all.

Early data I've seen indicates that magic pots are much more common now. I saw multiple people get 3-pot stages within the first few hours of the daily being open.

lol this Cloud USB is so absurd. Cid's BSB went from doing 700 damage per hit against Bahamut on the first cast with 1 wind imperil and no boosts to 26k per hit after 3 imperils, Cloud USB, and Zack's CSB. Also like a dumbass I pulled on the VII banner again hoping to get it native, got a dupe Zack CSB instead Oh well, also got Cait's BSB, which will come in handy maybe. And I won't say no to more +wind weapons, though I wish it wasn't only in VII. What's the deal with VII swords requiring synergy, anyway? Cloud's OSB is the same, and all my other OSBs are just flat +elemental with no strings.
